Comfort Inn and Suites Downtown Hotel - Page 1

The motel is a bit hard to find at first with all the one-way streets and interstates. It is in a good location for downtown sites and river market. The room was clean and the motel was quite at night. The room had a refrigerator and microwave. A good value for the location.

The rooms were not as clean as they should have been. Clean sheet were not always put on when they should have been.

It is a little confusing to find, but convenient to several popular locations. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The bed was too hard. The pool looked nice but there was not a hot tub.

My stay at this hotel was relatively uneventful until checking out. The room was fine, breakfast was pretty good for a free one, but the location is pretty sketchy.

At checkout, the "manager" refused to give me the rate that was on my email confirmation (yes, I had a copy of this). He proceeded to yell at me in a very unprofessional manner stating that he could not help me and that I needed to contact the Choice Hotels website where I made the reservation (wouldn't a reputable manager contact them for me to please a concerned customer?). They charged my credit card more than I agreed to pay, and I have since spent way too much time trying to get anyone to do anything to remedy this.

Choice Hotels says that the general manager's say is final. The general manager has not returned any of my phone calls. Spend the extra $20 or so and stay at a reputable hotel that will actually treat you like a guest!

Our cash, some of which was in a wallet in a purse in a closed suitcase, the rest in a closed backpack, was taken from our room while we were gone. The manager did not believe us, and our letters have gone unanswered.

The first room we were given had not been cleaned. The overnight staff had to be woken up to let us in.

This was our second stay at this hotel; our first stay was decent. But we will be taking our business elsewhere.
