Here is an excerpt of the complaint we sent to the general manager:
When we came in the lobby, the desk clerk hardly acknowledged us, as she carried on a conversation with staff at the desk (as I recall, they were sharing a somewhat colorful joke). When she finally acknowledged us, she simply stated, "Yes?" After more interruptions with unrelated conversations and joking around with her co-workers, she finally said, "You are too early, you cannot check-in until 4 pm and will have to wait."
My wife and I got to further experience the desk clerk and other staff members making flatulence noises while loudly laughing. After about 45 minutes of this show, the clerk finally said we could check-in. However, she said she was "fixing to get out of here" and someone else would have to check us in.
The room had been obviously smoked-in (we reserved a non-smoking room) and had not been properly cleaned (used soap was still in the shower, the shower stall had a notable amount of hair in it, the bathroom floor was wet and there was a wet washcloth under the sink).
For a few dollars more, stay next door at the Sheraton Four Points.
