Comfort Inn Silver City Hotel - Page 1

Hotel is understaffed and poorly maintained. We stayed there while attending a convention. Our room had a slightly musty odor and there was visible dirt accumulated in the corners and around the toilet base on the bathroom floor. I was asked to kill a spider in the room of friends staying across the hall. Friends in a room two doors down from us had to kill two spiders in their room. My wife and I are non-smokers and did not smoke in the room and no one else smoked in the room while we occupied it. After we checked out a $250.00 cleaning fee for smoking in the room was charged to our credit card. We were not notified, only discovering the charge when we received the billing statement. After multiple calls and conversations with the manager, Comfort Inn Silver City has refused to reverse the charge, and while unsaid, the manager has made it clear to me that she thinks I am lying.

There was poor lighting in the room as most of the lights were burnt out. I asked to have them replaced but they did not do so. Also, I never had towels in the room and every night I had to go to the desk to get towels.

The desk agent answered all questions cheerfully and accurately. Although we did not make our reservation on the two night special we were given that price after telling them the reservation agent did not notify us of its availability at the time of our reservation, saving us money.

The room was nice, but it was not very clean. I found hairs and threads on the bathroom floor and a pair of glasses next to the bed.
