Imagine flying all day, arriving at 10pm and looking forward to getting to bed before work in the morning. Imagine paying $40 for a taxi to your hotel, a hotel you pre-booked using a credit card to guarantee your late arrival.
Now imagine showing up and finding out you are being "walked" aka forcibly moved, to a different hotel. This might be an acceptable practice in the hotel business - greedy to make their buck at the expense of their customers. It is however the worst level of service a hotel can demonstrate. Imagine inviting friends or family over to your house, and then upon their arrival on your porch you ask them to spend the night at the neighbors. It's just rude.
Don't support hotels that manage their inventory by overbooking like this. The Comfort Inn Metro Center in Phoenix is such a nasty hotel. It will be a cold day in the desert before I'll ever book with them again. I recommend you avoid this at all costs.
