28 year old with a luxury budget, traveling for leisure
We visited in early May 2007. This place is not in the heart of tourism, but it's a short drive to downtown Monterey attractions. It looks like one of those old-style motels that was renovated. I was pleasantly surprised. The place was very clean and felt safe. And they had all kinds of flowers everywhere making the grounds very attractive. They had a free breakfast and the staff was nice enough. Just don't forget to tell them to take off the fee for the safe if you don't use it. It cost a little more than I wanted to pay for that caliber hotel (it being a renovated motel), but it was much cheaper than staying in the tourist district. It felt more like cottages. Overall, it was nice.
