Comfort Inn JFK Hotel - Page 1

After making a reservation for a non smoking room almost a month in advance, confirming with a credit card. I arrived at midnight only to find , my room had been given away. I was told I could sleep in a smoking room, which smelled like an ashtray. When I told the person at the desk it wasn't acceptable he canceled my reservation and told me to walk down the street a few blocks to another hotel. This is not the safest neighborhood for a woman and her son to be walking at night. I called the Comfort reservation 800 number to ask them to help me and was told if the young man at the Comfort Inn had not canceled my reservation they could help me, but because it had been canceled they couldn't do anything.

Everything was fine. My only comment would be that the rooms were very small, much smaller than the one I used in Washington state. The location was good, a shuttle brought us there. Service was good, I used the dining area for food that I ordered elsewhere.

The hotel was okay, all things considered. it was near enough to the airport, and near enough other transportation. The rooms were on the small side, but that was to be expected in New York. The neighborhood could be better, and sometimes I felt unsafe walking around the area at night. The rate was rather high, though.
