Just to sum up a FEW things that happened at this hotel when we stayed there(at total of 5 days)!
1)my kids were yelled at not once, but 2x by the staff(and my kids werent bad--although
sometimes they are)
2)When we arrived in our room there was a cheeto on the floor, hair in the bathtub and HAIR on the bathroom floor.
3)the lifeguard fell asleep not once, but 2x while on duty
4)we were trying to see DC by the metro and the staff didnt know what stops that we
should got off on.
5)we asked for 2 extra blankets, we were told we would have them shortly, then waited an hour or two and called again. they told us we would have them shortly. waited another hour and went to the front desk to check. then we were told there are no towels. later the manager told me that all the staff had to do was unlock a door and give me a new towel in the shipment that they had just recvd. very unfriendly and unhelpful staff.
6)there are no decent restaurants anywhere in the area, and the area around this hotel is NOT A NICE AREA. I would assume it isnt the safest place to stay.
7)i discussed all this(and much more) with the general manager and he offered me 2 nights free stay if i would come back to their hotel. I told him that i was moving overseas and wouldnt be able to come back, so i would like a discount. he said that he would email me and would make me happy. i waited and waited--for a week and a half. i called and finally he emailed me and told me that he would give me a 15% discount(less than one day when he had previously offered me 2 days).
Not only is the staff unhelpful, the general manager offers things and then doesnt follow up. I am EXTREMELY disappointed with this hotel. I expect MUCH better from any choice hotel.
