Comfort Inn Dulles Airport Hotel - Page 1

We reserved this through Hotwire. I was a little nervous but the price was really good. They have just newly renovated it.

The mattresses were new and very comfortable. The pillows, marvelous. I liked the exercise room and the continental breakfast was quite good (cereals, waffles, coffee, fruit, yogurt, muffins). Definitely what you would expect from a continental breakfast. The staff were very helpful and friendly. We had no complaints. The door to our room is still kind of funky in that the insulation was falling out at the bottom. This was not an inconvenience or a problem. Just an observation. The bathroom was well done and we had a refrigerator in the room which is always a nice feature.

Finally, having a complimentary shuttle to IAD was a real bonus for us. The driver offered each of us a bottle of water on our way to the hotel from the airport. It was good and cold. The hotel was clean, the staff were friendly and it certainly would have been worth a higher price than we paid through Hotwire.

I chose this hotel, because it was close to a conference I was attending.

The good: The room was very large. The bathroom was nice, though the sink was odd. It was bowl shaped and sat on top of the counter. Perhaps this is the latest style? If you're into aerobic fitness, there was a stair stepper machine in the room. There was a lot of furniture, 2 chairs with foot rests, 3 other chairs, and 2 tables. You can walk to several restaurants. I ate at the Outback next door.

The bad: The bed was very firm. I only slept a few hours, tossing and turning to try to get comfortable. You would think that when you pay over $180 total a night, you would get a comfortable bed like a pillow-top. The TV was small and a long way from the bed. You pretty much have to sit in one of the closer chairs to watch TV. My room was next to the elevator and the bed was on the wall with the elevator, so I got to hear everyone go up and down. The setting of the hotel wasn't anything to write home about, but it was close to my conference. The price was steep for what was a pretty standard Comfort Inn.

I enjoyed the room, the cleanliness and the service was what we needed. The location was exactly in the area we were needing to be.

This was a very poor stay. We reserved a king bed and received two doubles. The non-smoking room smelled like smoke and there was snot or something on the sheets. I was told it was the last room when I complained. I did not call after I noticed the sheets.

I liked the convenient location and the good value.
