male with a moderate budget, traveling for business
I'm a 30 yr-old professional who prides himself on being able to sleep or nap anywhere, through any conditions. Floor of my office, park benches, all night in my car, airports, whale-watching boats when everyone else is throwing up...I can sleep anywhere...except here.
My sense of smell is not too keen, but the stench of stale smoke hit me like a brick wall (no non-smoking rooms were available). The comforter was thoroughly disgusting. The pillows were oddly shaped and uncomfortable. The phone was yellow with smoke, broken, and never replaced as promised.
Keep in mind the source, folks: I'm a guy who can sleep almost anywhere and once ate a hot dog off the sidewalk, just to say I did.

Good
pros: Clean room, front desk in the morning was very helpfulThe room was reserved as a back up, all other hotels that were of choice were full. I got off late from working at a client site in the market st. area and the room I stayed in was big! ...

The front desk staff at check in was rude. A midnight fire alarm due to improper maintenance was bad. The shuttle service was friendly. The rooms were large. The building is way too close to the interstate.
I am very likely
to return to the Comfort Inn Downtown - Philadelphia.
I might recommend it to friends.

It is an older hotel, but that is no reason to have a unkept lobby area. Breakfast area very congested, not easy to get around. Tables "tight".
Room was on the small size, hard bed and if you turned on the heat it smelled of burnt hair! TV reception very poor minimal channels. Overall hotel really showed its age, needs major renovations.
Was it worth the $110 + taxes per night? No, you can do better with a little effort.

We had a beautiful room with the best view! The rooms were spacious and clean. the service staff were all friendly. the hotel has a complimentry shuttle to downtown locations, but it was not running this saturday night, it was my only complaint. We had to take cabs but they were plentiful and very reasonably priced.
