Comfort Inn Alexandria Hotel

We had several issues during our stay. The A/C unit made a horrible noise and we called about it 3 times over 3 hours eventually having turn it off and try to sleep in a 80 Degree room. We had requested a crib and it took about an hour before one was made available. When I tried to use the elevator on the 5th floor, the door would not open. One of the elevators was there so the other one never came to our floor. It would beep like the elevator arrived but would never open. We ended up having to carry our luggage down 5 floors. The carpet in the hallways was stained from foot traffic and looked like it had never been cleaned. Overall I would have to say this is the worst hotel I have stayed in. We had decided to stay here because it was a little cheaper, well we got what we paid for. The next night we moved hotels. Don't risk it stay somewhere else.

Overall I liked the hotel. It was older and it needed some remodeling in the rooms. I used choice privileges points for the first night, the following two nights I paid cash. However, they could not keep me in the same room all the three nights and they had to check me in again for my cash reservation. In doing so, they put me in a room with one king bed instead of two doubles. They did correct the problem to my satisfaction though and I have not difficulties with staying with these people again. For the area it is a good value.

The location is convenient but entrance/exit can be tricky; this is a major intersection during rush hour. Especially in the snow/ice which is frequent in the area in winter. I was fortunate that my room faced the woods because the curtains fell out of the ceiling on my first night there. I reported it to the desk for two days before they were replaced. Room was small so it was difficult to maintain a comfortable temperature.

The air conditioning unit could have worked better but it was a good hotel.

It was close to where I wanted to be. It was reasonably priced.
