Superior customer service and all the amenities you want, including free wireless high-speed Internet access throughout entire hotel, free deluxe continental breakfast with hot waffles, two-line phones, 27-inch and 32-inch TVs, in-room coffee, iron, ironing board and hair dryer. Great stopover for Canadians driving South - only a days drive away. Indoor hot tub. Adjacent to Brookings Hospital and Larson Manufacturing. Less than one mile from Swiftel Center, Ice Arena, South Dakota State University and 3M.

The service excellent, front desk people were very accomodating and helpful. Although hotel is entirely non-smoking, you can tell they have not been that way for long. One side of hallway has no smoking signs on each room door, across the hall on the the other side, no sign on the doors. My first room had a hint of smoke, they quickly changed me to a room with no hint of smoke. Room was clean, comfy beds, very comfortable. The breakfast area is very small with limited seating and on the weekend I was there, a summer art festival was going on. The breakfast experience was a mad dash for space, food, and newspapers. I retreated to my room for a peaceful breakfast.

When booking the room originally, a non-smoking room had been requested. The hotel clerk booked our room for smoking without telling us, knowing there were no non-smoking rooms available. Due to a large event in the city, the hotel thought we would have to take the room. Due to health conditions, the room was unacceptable, we were charged for a room that we did not stay in, hotel managment and the corporation will not take the charge off of our credit card, even though the room was smoke soaked, the odorizer they ran to correct the problem made it worse. It was totally unacceptable. Hotel manager and the corporate office refused to make it right.
I am not likely
to return to the Comfort Inn.
I would not recommend it to friends.
