We went there last summer. It was very nice. We really enjoyed the indoor pool. The rooms were spacious and the hotel location was convenient. We would like to go back sometime.

Overall, the hotel was nice and clean. The price was right but the beds needed upgrading. The mattresses were old and not comfortable. The staff was friendly and the location was very convenient.
I am somewhat likely
to return to the Clarion Inn Sandusky.
I might recommend it to friends.

We stayed at the Clarion Inn when we visited Cedar Point in August 2006. At the time, we paid and average of $85 per night. I thought that price was OK for what we got. Now I see that the price has risen significantly. Unless they have made some major changes since last summer, I would not dream of paying over $100 per night for this dump.
The parking lot is not well-lit. The first room they gave us had a cracked window (first floor by parking lot). When we asked to have our room changed, they moved us to an inner room near the pool for no extra charge. That may have been a mistake considering there was a very loud party by the pool which lasted past 2 a.m. Our room was not cleaned well and the bathroom was disgusting. We decided to leave a day early since we were so unhappy.
In the middle of the night, we had a "revised" bill slipped under our door which charged us an additional $20 per night over the price we were promised. They did straighten this out when we checked out and I complained.
Overall, don't waste your money. There are other nicer hotels closer to the park entrance that charge about the same. That's where we will be this summer.

I would not stay at this hotel! Once we had checked in, the "manager" stated that we did not book the rooms correctly, even after having several phone conversations prior to checking in. The staff was not helpful as well. Once we finally got into a room, there were two used condoms in the room. We explained this issue to management and they did nothing, we had to dispose of the trash ourselves!
After checking out to leave, the charged us extra for the room and because of a mistake that they had made, and stated that we had to call back to speak with someone because there was no one there who could fix the problem. It was a nightmare, the food was awful, and most people there were also complaining of the same issues. I will never stay here again!
Every Thanksgiving weekend and then again in March, I stay at the Clarion Hotel in Sandusky for a Pool tournament. This time, what we got in our room for a coffee pot was pathetic. It was a little one cup pot which produced the worst cup of coffee ...
