I think that rather than turn us away, they gave us a room that was not habitable. The toilet overflowed more than once. The carpet was musty and the sink did not drain. We checked in later than expected and did not get our handicapped room. We notified the desk of our problems and checked out the next morning to finish our stay elsewhere.

First of all the name had been changed to the Tampa hotel. We were in a smoking room without ashtrays. I asked for them. But did not receive them. Two light bulbs were burnt out. It was never replaced. The ice machine on our floor was not working. I had to go up or down a floor for ice. The new ownership did not seem to care.

The employees were fine.

This hotel was a pretty nice place to stay for the trip.

The hotel was not what was expected at all. The pictures told a whole different story than the actual place. The staff was not friendly or helpful, but the pool was very nice, the only good part of the stay.

The hotel provides a great room and service for the money. But none of the ice makers seemed to be working. I requested both online and by phone for a first floor pool-side room, but had to take the second floor -- and they have no elevators. But all in all, it is a great place.

It provides free shuttle service to the theme park and local cancer center. The restaurant staff and food quality were excellent. It's in a great location near the theme park and shopping mall.

The location to Busch Gardens was great. The fact that the hotel is divided up into 2 buildings was a disappointing surprise. I would not stay there again. I should have spent the extra money and stayed at the Embassy Suites or AmeriSuites up the street, which is more my style. The front desk staff was not very friendly and just didn't seem too enthusiastic about their job. I have stayed at a Marriott and a Sheraton where the front desk staff was happy as can be and extremely friendly. Personally, I think this property should be torn down and rebuilt as one large high-rise luxury property since this hotel currently is very old and just plain outdated!

After losing its lease from Holiday Inn due to poor standards the Tampa Hotel with its generic name doesn't fare much better. Save for an absolutely fabulous pool area (one of the best I've seen - the kid's loved it) the rooms, staff, and location were all subpar. If you are looking for a cheap getaway near the Gardens then check this place out, otherwise take your business elsewhere.

We booked through Amex Travel. Holiday Inn made us wait until after 4 to check in. They put us on the outside facing the parking lot farthest from the lobby. We left in the early morning of the second day and came back early the next day to find our personal items missing. We called the front desk and housekeeping said they thought we had checked out. We left for a family emergency. They could not find our items, so they replaced some items from the local drug store. I felt very unsafe and put our luggage in the car whenever we left the hotel. I would not recommend Holiday Inn Busch Gardens. The hotel staff was so busy they could care less, but the housekeeping manager was concerned.

Holiday Inn Busch Gardens is a standard establishment.

Their swimming pool facility was awesome. It needed minor maintenance, but that didn't take away from the ambiance and the ability to enjoy it.
