In the communal breakfast room, I took an emergency cell phone call from a co-worker. Her infant had stopped breathing and had just been taken to the hospital and I was asked to cover some work for her. The hovering hotel manager told me to hang up my phone, I ended the call. When I attempted to explain the nature of the call to the manager he started shouting in my face that he would "throw me out of the breakfast room." It was particularly threatening to me as a female. My husband had to tell him to stop verbally abusing me. The ONLY reason we stayed another night was that there were no other rooms available in town.

I travel to Kanab several times a year, I will never stay at The Clarion again, I would not be comfortable with such an unpredictable person on the premises.

The accomodations were less than A-1 too, because several amenities did not work in the first room assigned, we requested to be moved to another room, all that was available was a smaller room which was not comfortable.

I booked a room at the clarion hotel in Kanab Utah through a choice privileges program. My vehicle broke down on the road and I had to cancel my reservation after the 24 hour cancellation window. I described the situation to the owner who had no empathy and told me he was going to charge me anyway. I then talked to my booking agent. A representative called on my behalf to talk to the owner and get his permission to wave the cancellation expense and he still refused. I called to talk to him again and he hung up on me. I am currently disputing the charge with my credit card issurer. Apparently, the bad press and disputed charge process does not matter to the owner. Stay away.

This was a different experience, the owner was not very friendly, our fireplace did not work, the rooms had no color, everything was white, the bathroom was more like a hospital, the carpet had black spots on it, there was no place to put your toiletries, with just one small glass shelf.

The fake plants were all dusty. They gave us a menu for breakfast, we requested pancakes but we did not get them. We requested the last breakfast of the day and they were already cleaning up and putting things away like muffins, coffee, orange juice. They advertised a Jacuzzi and a fireplace, but the fireplace doesn't even face the bed, it is in the corner of the room where we could not see it. They had uncomfortable chairs to sit in, and no laundry bag. I would recommend a step when getting out of Jacuzzi.

The plus was a quiet room, the bed was comfortable and there was a fan over the bed. When I called the owner to let him know that the fireplace was not working, he said “Are you in room 208?”, we said “Yes”, and he said that fan didn't work, but did not let us know at the time we checked in, so I asked for compensation and he said we will give us a free breakfast, which we everyone gets, it was a sarcastic answer.

It was a well-run, clean place to stay and I would recommend it.
