Clarion Hotel and Suites Hamden Traveler Review

Had a chemical smell and lacked safety

My two fellow travelers and I several problems with this Clarion hotel:

1) The room had a strong chemical cleaning agent odor, even after we left the door to the balcony open (in January!) for two hours.

2) The aforementioned door to outdoor balcony was locked only with a weak deadbolt, and there was a significant gap between the door and door jam.

3) The TV menu features did not work, and though a helpful staff person came immediately, they couldn't do anything about it, and so the TV and movie features were inaccessible. Not a big deal for us, but it would have been nice.

4) I paid for the stay on Priceline.com, but after my stay the hotel charged me again for the same nights! This dispute is still being worked out.

5) The staff was very kind, but lacked useful knowledge of the area and ability to give directions.
