Excellent
I've stayed at the Clarion 4-5 times over the past year (usually just Fri. &/or Sat. nights) and I can honestly say I've never had any problems at all. It's always clean, the staff is friendly, & the rooms are nice. It can be abit noisy on ...

Excellent
My husband and I were going to stay at the Sheraton because we knew it was a very nice hotel. However, we were turned off by the fact that guests pay for parking. The Clarion seemed to be in a more convenient location. We were not disappointed. The...

The front desk is not secure. My daughter dropped her wallet outside the hotel. It was returned to the front desk with all the valuables included (the front desk logged it in and the front desk called to report that they had her wallet and valuables) but when my daughter picked the wallet up, all the valuables were cleaned out. The GM was unsympathetic. Makes you wonder how safe your credit card info is!

Okay
I had an awesome view, however, the room smelt musty. The bed was very very uncomfortable and the bedspread smelled unclean. The bathroom was overall clean . The rug was nasty too! I didn't like the stay at all= I couldn't wait to get home to my...

Excellent
My child and I took the train to Raleigh for the experience, so we didn't have a car. This made it necessary to get a hotel close to the attractions we wanted to see. The Raleigh Clarion was exactly what we were looking for. First of all, it is...

Mediocre
Interestingly designed hotel in a great location, but ownership has not spent a nickel to keep it up. Everything about the hotel is worn and stained. Went through three alarm clocks trying to find one that works and gave up. Settled for one that...
40 year old male with a economy budget, traveling for leisure
Watch your valeables!. I stayed here for one night only and when I left my room to visit a friend, i was only gone for 2 hours. In that very short period of time, my room was robbed and all my valueables were stolen! I notified the police and they caught the person the next day. There was no signs of forced entry into the room. There seemed to be no security in the hotel at all and only one camera in the entire building. I only recovered half of my property. The service was sub par and I feel the perpetrator knew someone on the inside. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone!
I am not likely
to return to the Clarion Hotel State Capital.
I would not recommend it to friends.
58 year old male with a moderate budget, traveling for business
It was a pleasure to stay at the Clarion State Capital in Raleigh. The room and the entire hotel was very clean, the location was convenient to the airport, major universities in the are, and a delightful downtown shopping area. I would happily return to this hotel as a guest in the future.
27 year old female with a moderate budget, traveling for business
I stayed here for one night, since I was traveling through the area on business. The room was comfortable, had a great view, close to restaurants, and the parking was easy.
My only reservation was safety since anyone could get into the building from the parking garage. The elevator stops at every level and you didn't need to swipe any sort of key to go straight to your floor from parking. Also, the maid kept knocking on my door on-the-hour from 8 am until noon. I told her that I didn't need anything and would be checking out later. It was very annoying!
Other than that, you can't beat the price for the location and it's a good hotel. It looks like it was renovated recently.

We loved the location of this hotel. It was well within walking distance of several interesting restaurants.
The check-in staff were friendly and helpful, although one of them didn't even know what we were talking about when we asked about The Second Empire. It's right next door to the hotel!?
When I called to ask about the Sunday brunch, the response was lackadaisical and uninviting so we didn't stay to check it out. The hotel itself is clean and in reasonably good shape and the furniture and amenities were all present and in good condition.
The room was a little small but for the location and our purpose was just fine. It's just not special enough to recommend for more than one or two nights or for a special occasion, though.
I am somewhat likely
to return to the Clarion Hotel State Capital.
I might recommend it to friends.
