Clarion Hotel Monterey

My family and I stayed here over night. We came to Monterey to go to the beach and to sight see and walk around the wharf. The room was okay but the door would not shut right and the top latch to the door was broken. The hotel had inadequate parking. They have more rooms than parking spaces.

The pool looked unclean, cloudy and wreaked of chlorine. One of the windows to where the in-door poor was located looked like it had a gun shot through it and one of the other windows had a huge crack in it. When we went to bed it was noisy. We could hear loud talking and the T.V. above us. The beds were very uncomfortable as well. The continental breakfast was good. Did not like the front desk service, staff was not very polite. I feel this hotel is overrated and over priced. I feel it was not worth the money we paid to stay there. Would not stay here again.

The room was good, with a king size bed, a fireplace, a small dining table, a refrigerator, a microwave, cable and all at ninety dollars per night. I wished we could have stayed two nights instead of just one. The location was a very short drive from Cannery Row, the aquarium, the wharf and the beach. The only complaint was that the older kids were too rowdy in the pool and the jacuzzi was jammed with adults all evening. The setup was nice, just small.

It was a large enough room for a family of six. It's a basic motel. The pool wasn't warm enough.

I was very impressed with our entire stay from the time we walked in to the time we checked out. The location was right in the middle of everything. There were three of us and not one of us complained and we all enjoyed the entire stay. We will do it again if we come that way.

This hotel made me feel respected: I liked the treatment we received from every employee in the hotel, and you felt that that they were not coached to say these things to you, it was really meant.

I liked the room size and the breakfast buffet. I did not like the check in time of three o'clock in the afternoon. I had to wait two hours for the room.

This hotel made me feel secure: The hotel was fenced with one entrance and it had an all night desk clerk. It also had a manager who lived on site.
