57 year old with a luxury budget, traveling for leisure
First of all, this is a really weird shaped hotel, but it's located in a very nice location along side of the River Shannon and in the center of the city. I must admit we like the ones that look like a castle best of all. I also don't care for blonde oak furniture or the color maroon, so I really didn't care for the huge head boards on the bed. However, it was a king-size bed with Egyptian cotton sheets so it was very comfortable and we had a fantastic view of the river. I don't really have anything negative against the hotel, the service and everything was great. We just didn't care for the decor.
The twenty-four hour rooms service was great and there was a coffee maker, mini bar, nice toiletries, and we got the upgrade package, which included a bottle of wine, chocolates, bathrobes, slippers, the morning paper, and the sleep easy program. Kinda expensive, but we decided to treat ourselves. And the pool, gym, Jacuzzi, sauna and everything was glorious. As I said, it really is a nice hotel and worth its four stars, we just prefer things from a more romantic era.
