Clarion Hotel Conference Center Louisville Hotel - Page 2

A business seminar was being held in the conference center so I made reservations to stay in this hotel. The staff at the hotel was extremely helpful. Unfortunately, this could not make up for the fact this hotel is in deplorable shape. The mattresses looked like they had been salvaged from the dump. The springs were coming through and a blanket had been folded in fours and placed between the mattress and fitted sheet. The velour blanket had dry rotted and felt like a sponge. There was no remote to the television. The carpet was disgusting, stained, smelled. The toilet tank would not stop filling. There was no A/C to the hallways and they had a strong odor of what smelled like urine. None of the exterior "secure" doors were locked ever. The internet does not and apparently has never worked. The last straw was going to the fitness room and getting on the treadmill. The belt did not work and the motor made a loud sound like it was going to blow up. This was at 8:30 p.m. I walked over to the Marriott, which is located behind this hotel's conference center and secured a room for the rest of my stay. I retrieved my belongings and told the front desk I was checking out, that I had had enough and they provided me with a full refund, including the previous night's stay. No questions asked.

I would highly recommend if you are reserving a room in this area of Louisville or plan to attend a business function at the conference center at Clarion that you stay at the Marriott. The rooms were not that much more and it was well worth the extra money. By the way, I was not the only person attending this particular conference who checked out of the Clarion and moved to the Marriott due to the dilapidated condition of the Clarion. And according to personnel at the Marriott, this happens quite frequently. Don't waste your time or money at the Clarion (or Studio Lodge I believe it is actually called as it is no longer affiliated with the Clarion franchise).

My son's soccer team booked the room; otherwise, we would not have stayed the night. The “secure entry” exterior door to the hallway did not lock at all. The hallway needed a coat of paint or at least a good vacuuming. The room smelled of stale smoke for a nonsmoking room. The sheets were stained, there was noticeable water damage on the ceiling with drooping ceiling tiles, and the bathroom was not clean. We travel frequently and do not expect Champagne on a beer budget; however, we do expect a clean room.

It was a little difficult to find and harder yet to direct my in laws by phone, after dark. The hotel itself was just fine. I would have appreciated a rollaway crib for my twin girls.

This hotel is the worst place I have ever stayed at in my life. The guy working the front desk was very rude and the room was a mess. Like I said do not stay here, or you will regret it just like I did.

Thanks to a employee who works the front desk and the fact that room was a mess and dirty with ants and cockroaches, I am never in my life going to stay here again. I can not believe it allowed to stay in business. Me and my wife who were traveling at the time and could not find a room else where, ended up here. I wish we would have just slept in the car. The man who was working the front desk that night was very rude when we told him of the bug problem, he just laughed and i am serious when I say this, he said do let the bed bugs bite. I just could not believe how bad the service and hotel was. I asked to speak to the manager and he said he was the manager and that there was nothing he could do. Well I will tell you what i did, and that is not staying at another one of these hotels ever again.

I've stayed at this hotel a few times and their customer service gets better each time I visit. It's a little confusing to get to the first time, but once you know how to reach the hotel after exiting the interstate, it's extremely easy to remember.

This hotel made me feel welcome: I was there for a conference and one hotel clerk said that she was excited the conference was there. The clerk that actually checked me in was extremely helpful and tried to accommodate my room selections as much as possible.

I pulled into this hotel off of interstate 64 on my way from Detroit to Orlando. I was very pleasantly surprised. I was just pulling off the interstate so I didnt need or expect much but I was very pleased. The staff was extremley friendly at both the front desk as well as the bar. I travel to Louisville on occasion for business and because of this leisure trip, I have found a new home for business. The decor and furnishings are a bit dated but you can see that they are very well taken care of, you can tell the staff takes pride in their enviroment.

I love the location because it is surrounded by restaurants, shopping and the movie theatres are close by. We have stayed over Memorial Weekend for several years as a family get-away vacation. We usually reserve 3 to 4 rooms poolside. We have observed an overall deterioration in the service, upkeep of property (especially the pool and atrium) and attitude of staff. We could only get 5 channels on the TV in our room (1226)and those channels were not clear. The swimming pool was so cold that many in our group could not stay in very long. The bottom sheets kept coming off during the night and we would find ourselves sleeping on the mattress. I regret to say that we do not plan to return.

I know many people think the at a Hotel if the prices are low the service isn't great. But I belive that overall the staff made you feel like you have known them for years. The rooms have a touch of Fashion but it could use an update. The Conference Center I had a meeting there. The staff was friendly and very out going. I believe if you want a nice peaceful night stay at the Clarion.

Recently my company booked us at this hotel. I was very surprised how great this hotel was, based on the previous reviews. They treated us with respect, made sure we knew how to get to our function. Staff did a great job making sure our function went off without a hitch. The rooms were nice and the restaurant was great. Overall, we plan on staying there every time we come to Louisville.

In general the rooms are very lovely and the staff is very good. However, I booked two rooms at the same time and I was never asked if I wanted them adjoining, or close to one another and so when I checked in, they were almost at opposite ends of the hotel.

I asked for additional towels second day. I had to go and get myself. I asked for an ashtray for three days and ended up taking one from the bar area.

This hotel made me feel secure: There are security guards on the grounds. All of the rooms enter from the inside and all exterior entry doors are locked and you have to use your room key to gain entry.

The hotel in all was very nice, but the rooms left a lot to be desired. They were dirty, stinky and had bugs in the bathroom. Dirty, used towels were also in the bathroom.

The front desk customer service was apathetic to rude. The Restaurant wait staff and shuttle drivers were friendly and professional, there was no free week-day newspaper as advertised, and the hotel needs an all-over face-lift.

Clarion seemed to be a new owner of this property. The physical plant needs to have work done to make it a first-class property. It is an older hotel and needs to have some maintenance done on various items.

I was very happy with my stay there. The people were extremely helpful and friendly and the hotel was situated in a very convenient location for our travels.

The hotel was clean and relatively quiet. We were able to find everything we needed easily and when time to check in and out, the process went smoothly.

There are too many negative things for me to list here. I have no choice about being here. It's a business trip and the company only sends it's employees here. Companies, do not send your people here. This place is a dump and the service/staff are awful!
