It was very dirty

The hotel looks nice in the lobby, but if you travel too far in, it isn't the best.
The rooms had been reserved as a group by another person. We were told three different times that the keys had been given to someone. First it was fifteen minutes ago then it was two minutes ago, then our rooms were going to be ready in fifteen minutes. When we received the room keys only half of us had rooms. The others had mistakenly been reserved for Friday instead of Saturday.
When I received my room key I went to the room to find a pillow, not the pillow case, with blood stains on it. The other pillow looked like it had been in a flood, with make up on the pillow case, and food crumbs under the bottom sheet. The crumbs were not small; they were visible through the sheet. The closet door was not on, but propped up in the closet.
I had met several people who had similar complaints. I did ask the front desk if I could have new pillows and the room cleaned again. My husband and I then decided to try to get another room. Their response was "We can check you out", no "I'm sorry" or "Yes, we will try." We did talk with two different managers and showed them the room. They said that this was the first that anyone had heard of this room being in this condition. They then said we only demanded our money back and never asked for a different room. I had a no smoking room, but was standing there when the manager told one of the members of our group they could smoke in the rooms anyway. I will never stay there again and I urge people to stay away.
I am not likely to return to the Clarion Hotel Bloomington. I would not recommend it to friends.
