I recently stayed at the hotel because my son graduated from Wake Forest, about a mile from the hotel. I and my wife had stayed there about a year ago and were not happy. However, my son had attended a function at the hotel several months ago and told us it was markedly improved, so we tryed again. What a difference! The room was well-appointed and impeccably clean. The hotel personnel were extremely friendly, courteous, and professional. I spoke with the General Manager to compliment her about the improvements and our previous disappointing visit. I now Know why the improvement. This person has a passion and drive that can only make it better. The hotel has added a spa and wellness center since our last visit and my wife loved it. I enjoyed the sauna after working out in the exercise room. We had dinner in the Bistro restaurant and the food quality was exceptional and inexpensive. The Starbucks coffee saved us from hunting a Starbucks coffee shop. My wife and I enjoyed drinks and a stroll in the peaceful, semi-private sanctuary. We have stayed at Hiltons and Marroitts that did not even come close to the quality of the Sundance yet cost twice to three times as much. When I go back to Winston-Salem (or Greensboro and High Point), I will definitely stay at the Sundance!

The first time that I stayed here it was 2006. The rooms were filty and the internet was horrible. I then decided to give the hotel another try in 2008 since it was the Host Hotel for Wake Forest. When I arrived the ombiance of the hotel was fantastic. The staff at the front desk were very friendly and even management welcome me. The internet was definelty high speed and the cleanliness and decor of the room had a very nice touch. The food in the resturant was great but it did close alittle early. I would defintley stay here again!

I am so glad that I decided to give this place anouther try. The first time I wasn't that appeased. Things needed some change. However, this time I can really see the imprvement. New management, some new staff and everyone is very friendly and appealing. Rooms are very clean, looks like they have really upgraded the internet. It is really fast. Although the beds dont seem to have been changed yet, I spoke to management and they said that they are working on this. I would definatly recommend this hotel and stay here again it is exciting to see all the new ways and upgrades.

This hotel was recommended to me. I stayed there before it was renovated and was very impressed with the new look and feel. I love the "friends of the art" concept in the guest rooms. The hotel exhibits local and regional art work in the guest rooms. Like a mini art galleria. You can by the art "of the wall". The Spa manager took me on a tour of the Spa & Wellness Center - WOW - that looked nice. I am looking forward to use it during my next stay. The staff was very friendly - to my surprise they "welcomed me back" to the hotel. Nice touch. The restaurant closed already at 9PM, kind of early - and the restaurant is not open for lunch.

I have never stayed at a hotel that lead me on as much this one did. The lobby will have you fooled. The rooms were awful. Roaches, low beds with no support, internet awful, TV and furniture needs major upgrades. When I made my reservations and confirmed at a later date none of the nice people that I spoke to were not employed there anymore. (that really bothered me) management really needs to be the ones replaced. Wake Forest needs to upgrade their hotel listing because this place is just awful.

Their WiFi is free, but since all the access points are configured to use the same channel there is significant contention for bandwidth.
When it works, the latency is huge. Ping the local router in the hotel is 7 milliseconds, ping a website outside the hotel and it is 1500ms - 5000ms. That is a 5 second delay for every packet from my room on the fourth floor. Walk to the lobby and use the new Linksys Router, the only one on Channel 6 and everything runs perfectly. So, the front desk thinks everything is fine. Latency is 20ms for websites. With all routers on the same channel with each new guest using it the problem grows worse. (Hotel please buy the WIFI for Dummies book!)

They were in the middle of renovations that did know about when booked. It was a bit inconvenient. Also, towels, soap, etc. were not ready when we got to the room.
It was a very quiet place. Just seemed safe. Good location.
