Clarion Collection Atrium Court Hotel

A great hotel. Very nice accommodations, flat-screen TVs in the rooms, an marvelous bar and restaurant, pleasant staff, and very close to the Metro.

Of all the hotels I stay at in DC, this is my first choice.

The hotel is very difficult to find, and when I called the hotel for directions, the staff was unable to direct me to the hotel. I spoke with three different people and got three different sets of directions. I made a reservation for a suite, and was given a much smaller room, I had to fight with the day manager for an adjustment to my rate. The pool was slimy.

I have stayed here on and off for several years. They changed their name to Atrium, but it is the same old place. The beds are terrible, the carpets are worn, and the restaurant food is inedible.

This was our second visit to Quality Suites Shady Grove. The staff is friendly and efficient; they sent the shuttle for us, even though our cell phone died in the middle of our request. The only problem we had (both times) is that we booked a suite through Expedia and were given a smaller room once we arrived. The hotel accommodated us, but told us we had to go through Expedia to be compensated for the night we stayed in one room, but paid for a suite.
