50 year old with a luxury budget, traveling for leisure
I made my reservations by phone 4 weeks ago and told the woman (a heavy Baltic accent) that I would be arriving around 9 or 9:30 p.m. since my flight was getting in late and I'd be driving down to Hollister from San Jose. I was assured that everything would be fine, so I just left it at that.
Silly me! As you may already have predicted, I arrived within my expected timeframe, and walked in the door. "I have a reservation," I told the woman as I approached the counter.
"No, you don't," the woman countered harshly. "You lost your reservation at 6 p.m. and we're sold out."
You can imagine how I felt about losing my reservation that I had carefully made a month prior. Here I was, stranded in the little town of Hollister, at 9 p.m. without a place to stay. How could I possibly recommend this place when they treat customers/guests like that? Ridiculous way to run a business.
