Why, in a city of so many great hotels

Horrible
Why, in a city of so many great hotels would you stay at a cheesy marriott? Most hotels in the area are lower priced and you will get more of a true chicago experience almost anywhere else. The restaurant in particular is disappointing. They are...

Excellent
I loved this hotel! They let me check in 5 hours early even though I didn't call in advance. My room was on the 39th floor and had a killer view of downtown. It was extremely luxurious and even had a 2 person shower with massaging jets. I was never...

Excellent
Hands down the most genuinely excellent service I've had at a hotel. Many hotels instruct their staff to smile and say their pleases and thank yous. The result is often sacharine. For our stay, my fiancee and I could not stop commenting on the...
30 year old female with a luxury budget, traveling for leisure
When we arrived, we were told that they were overbooked and did not have a room, even though we had a reservation. However, they did arrange to have us moved to another marriot property in chicago. Very swanky lobby...didn't get to see the rooms! Nice staff.
We were very disappointed in our stay

Okay
We were very disappointed in our stay here. The room was extremely small, the lobby was under construction, the elevators were very slow. The staff was OK, but I expect a higher level of service from a hotel of this caliber. The only good things...
32 year old male with a luxury budget, traveling for leisure
service: we initially found a great deal and reserved through marriott.com. however, after a long day of travel with 2 kids, we checked in at about 10pm they decided to double the rate on us, after we had already checked in! the front desk called to our room after the kids had fallen asleep and said the supervisor told them the rate was no longer effective, yet it was on their website! i asked them to compromise b/c it was their mistake but they wouldn't budge. i told them we would find another hotel and they told us "go ahead." so by the a.m. we were in a better hotel with better service and view!
the hotel itself: the front desk had 2 people staffing it and just two parties checking in (including us). however, the other lady at the front desk decided to walk away and not check us in, she told us to wait until the other staffer was done with the first party. hotel entrance was off of machigan ave. and hard to get to b/c of the one way streets. the lobby was a mess with construction going on. we stayed on the 35th floor for one night and could hear the work they were doing! restuarants were meager, weak on selection, bland on food and ridiculous on price ($15 for pastry and piece of fruit)!
would not recommend this hotel. you can find better elsewhere!
