Stayed there for a wedding, it was great to be able to walk everywhere, or take the train to the events like Navy Pier

I have stayed at this hotel many times and I love it. For down town Chicago you can't get a better deal. The staff is excellent, friendly, and always welcoming.

We had such a great stay at the Red Roof! The front desk agents were so friendly (particularly Ms. Robinson) and they greeted us everytime we past by the desk. The lobby area was nicely decorated and had a homey feel. Our room was emaculate and roomy, and even included complimentary coffee; which tasted great in the morning. The bed was so comfortable and spacious. And you couldn't hear a thing from the busy streets below the hotel. You can feel secluded while at the same time have the city at your fingertips. Our stay was well worth the money and we will definitely stay at the Red Roof again!

In need of updates – Posted Aug 30, 2009

Mediocre
23 year old with a moderate budget, traveling for leisure

The bed was 'overused' and the bedding was outdated and old. The airconditioner was good and the location was excellent. The room could have been cleaner (carpets, ceiling looked a little dirty).

NEVER STAY HERE! – Posted Aug 05, 2009

Horrible
female with a moderate budget, traveling for leisure

I stayed at hotel June 5-7 2009, though the location of the hotel is perfect, the hotel & service itself is less then that. Upon checking in I was put into a room that was dirty and had spider webs in the in the windows and was the size of a closet (yes it's a downtown property I accepted that, the cleanliness however was not acceptable) I called down to the desk to see about switching rooms and was told I was in the largest room, they didn't offer to move me until I asked for a refund to move elsewhere. I was put in a much nicer room. This seemed to be partly remodeled. The day of check-out a person who was in the room with me dropped their phone between the bed and wall, went to pick it up and found old dried up vomit on the wall, floor and side of the bed. At check out i brought it to the ladies attention and was simply asked if I would like another copy of my bill. I decided that when I got home I would call the manager. Manager was nice apologized and offered to refund my money. Long story short it has been about TWO months and due to lake of competence, and just plan disregard with the extent of this issue; I am STILL waiting for my refund. The customer service is seriously lacking, I have gone through 3 different people promising my refund, none of which have actually followed through. I would advise you spend the extra money and stay in a much cleaner hotel to avoid any situation of this matter.

The lobby was evidently newly remodeled. Getting off the elevator it was like entering the twilight zone of filth. Dirty, worn and stained carpeting in hallway. Room was barely better. Bathroom had lots of pubic hair still on floor and in tub. The s

Horrible

I stayed at this hotel for approximately a week during business conferences. I must say, it was one of the worst hotel experiences, I've ever had. I was surprised because for the rate and location, I had higher expectations.
