Official Hotel Information
Chez des Amís Bed & Breakfast was begun in October of 2000 in a beautiful house that innkeeper Scott Lumry noted had "good bones" at move-in. It took a little more time to discover, or perhaps uncover, the wonderful potential of the lot on which it sat. The arts & crafts style bungalow was built in 1923 by the Iglehart family, described as the first Jewish family to move into the Natchitoches city limits. Originally only the first floor of the dwelling was occupied. Since that time, a total of 5 families have inhabited this house which was modified over time to reflect the needs of the occupants. Aside from the addition of living quarters upstairs, the dining room was converted to a sitting room, the kitchen became the dining room, and the back porch was turned into the kitchen. Located a block and a half from where Washington becomes Front Street, we're an easy stroll to shops, restaurants, and all major downtown and riverfront events, so no parking worries when you stay with us.
