Stayed there in October, 2007. My advice if you are thinking about it dont. Sincere, well-meaning, honest staff thats the only thing good about the place. (Although there is no staff there after 7 at night so when our bed frame fell apart there was nothing to do but drag the mattress onto the floor.) The place is exceptionally noisy, old as in decrepit, and not particularly clean. If it were $100 a night cheaper, youd ignore all that. But for what they charge, it is unbelievably overpriced. They try to justify it by serving wine in the evening and trying to make breakfast on the weekend seem pretentious. You could take the money you are paying for the white table cloth and invest it in a good meal out, a decent bed, and a chance at a good nights sleep.
We recently spent our anniversary at this beautiful Victorian Painted Lady B&B. We have stayed here before a few years ago, and enjoyed it very much. We stayed in the Luisa Tetrazzina l Room ast time, but it was not available , so we opted for the...

27 year old female with a luxury budget, traveling for business
I have stayed in a few bed & breakfasts, and this is one of the few that doesn't have staff late at night. That can pose a problem at times. Also, we didn't have our own bathroom (it was across the hall), which was odd to me and made getting ready a bit of a bother. Also, the employees were not altoghether helpful as when we arrived another guest opened the door for us and we did this for someone else. The brunch was outstanding, but things were just off here, and I believe that it is standard operating procedure. It's a gorgeous house and some of the rooms do have their own bathrooms, we just would have liked to have been told that our room didn't beforehand. I might give it another chance at another time, but it's not my first choice for the area.
