Modeled after an elegant Loire Valley castle, the famed Chateau Marmont is a designated cultural monument whose history is that of Hollywood itself. Acquired and carefully restored by Andre Balazs in 1990, Chateau Marmont is unrivalled in its status as home to virtually every leading entertainment figure in Hollywood. Its 63 generously proportioned suites and bungalows, set amidst lush private gardens, offer stunning, panoramic views of Los Angeles and world class service.

Tucked away in a lush enclave that hovers above the Sunset Strip, Chateau Marmont is a Hollywood legend. Decidedly hip, famously decadent, the hotel has been a fixture of the Hollywood scene since the 1930's. This chic garden oasis is modeled after a castle from the French countryside, with its luxurious interior exuding Gothic, bohemian flair.

38 year old male with a luxury budget, traveling for leisure
The Chateau Marmont is one of the classiest, hippest places to stay in Los Angeles. I like it better than The Mondrian, with all of its wannabe actor bellhops and their lame all-white rooms. The staff at the Chateau is very gracious. The lounge with the piano is fantastic. There are almost always some interesting people there, lots of low-key celebs. If you can, get a suite on one of the upper floors. They have great views of the Los Angeles area and fantastic porches. The restaurant downstairs is fantastic. You can sit outside while you eat and the food is delicious. Highly recommend you stay here.
45 year old female with a luxury budget, traveling for business
The Chateau Marmont is famous, or infamous, as the place where John Belushi died. Now, it is a favored place for celebrities and high-powered executives looking for privacy in classical style.
The rooms are art deco 1950s style decor full mini bars and a great selection of music CDs but you can't beat the views of the Sunset Strip from suite 55, the famed suite where Desi Arnaz and Lucy are said to have fought with Desi sending his suitcase flying onto the street from the balcony. If you are looking for a typical hotel experience, this is not it. Its more like a private residence for the elite and demanding. Its more than a bit pricey, but worth it.
This hotel is the most amazing place. It is more like an experience. Besides the history of celebrities and rock star parties, you feel like a rock star just walking in. It has the old hollywood style and extremely comfortable. Pool is amazing, bar...
