chateau rundown – Posted Oct 08, 2009

Okay
female with a moderate budget, traveling for leisure

I was appalled at the condition of this hotel...having stayed there years past - it is an absolute disaster...landscaping dead...all around even around the - conference center...I took a gentleman friend with me - what an embarrassment - he had stayed there in the early 80's - when fairly- new....!

I do not believe the story- they are tearing down to rebuild a 5 star....not with the conditions they have allowed to --get worse and worse.

For the price it was sure woth it. It is in a great location to get to the Wine county and to the city. Easy to get to off the freeway. Parking close to room. Any problems were taken care of right away. Free internet that worked well. Free wine tast

The place is a dump – Posted Jun 29, 2008

Horrible
58 year old female with a luxury budget, traveling for leisure

This place is so run down, broken furniture and doors, dirty windows, the structure is run down, needs paint. They say they are going to shut it down to remodel...it would be better to tear it down and rebuild. VERY disappointed. You could tell once upon a time, the place was beautiful, but not anymore.

Very disappointing place. We paid for a 4 star and it's no better than a motel 6.

Don't do it!!! – Posted Aug 19, 2007

Horrible
40 year old female with a luxury budget, traveling for leisure

The room smelled, air conditioner broken, alarm clock broken, wall paper comin off the wall. The room seemed decorated by grabbing things at garage sales. I called for an early morning wake up call to catch a 5:30am hot air balloon ride and they did not call me. Luckily we made it to the balloon on time but were not as prepared as we should have been.

Horrible

Absolutely the hardest, most uncomfortable beds I have slept on in 23+ years of travel. Shower did not work, sink faucet sprayed water out the back, ants in bathroom, junk under beds from previous guests, wallpaper peeling, no parking near room, no elevator, ice machine broken; the list goes on. Great location, but keep driving and pay a little more. This place is a no better than a bad Motel 6 charging 3X the price. Run away!

Low cost.Old, outdated, and in – Posted Jun 10, 2007

Okay

Low cost.Old, outdated, and in disrepair. Chateau Hotel was a bit of a disappointment. The place seemed very old and was in need of refurbishing. Also, seeing this was my first trip to Napa, I had envisioned the hotel being very close to wineries...

Okay

It was inexpensive and you basically pay for what you get, people don't understand that you're not staying at a Hilton. It was quaint and quiet.. front desk was great and had a good sense of humor. She was the English speaking one! For a low price I recommend.

Avoid staying here – Posted Oct 19, 2006

Stay at the YMCA instead of this hotel, you will get a cleaner, and more secure room. I had to move to a new room due to the smell. The back doors of the hotel are left wide open, and no there’s no security. Also, the pool had not been cleaned.

The price may be good, but stay somewhere else and pay a little more
