Good

We always stay here, it has a complete kitchen with utensils and a room with a little living room. The only thing about this place is that it needs a makeover. A little scary to walk around by yourself.

Compassionate Service – Posted Aug 04, 2008

Good

Being an RCI timeshare member I was able to book a room for a young Christian family of 3 whose wife is struggling with breast cancer. She was going to a clinic about three miles from this resort which made it very convenient. The father and the 8 ...

Excellent

When I reserved the room it only had two stars so I was a little worried. It was great. The staff was really friendly , the room was clean . Pool and spa felt great and we were able to go at any time. We will stay there...

Uneasy Feeling – Posted Jan 31, 2008

Mediocre

We spent five days in this place over the last few weeks in January. I think to be fair I should list the things that made the "Resort" nice. The parking was underground and located right by the elevators. The staff was friendly and they did...

Okay

The only complaint I had was that the a/c unit was SO LOUD when it turned on. Other than that it was quiet, clean enough, close to the river and walking distance to downtown area. They could restock their vending machines a little more often...

Right off the bat I want to make it – Posted Jul 23, 2007

Mediocre

Right off the bat I want to make it clear to everyone that this is a TIMESHARE hotel. So you don't get daily maid service like at a regular hotel. Next, the hotel is antiquated & needs a total renovation. Third, The A/C systems in the rooms are...

Good

This hotel was in good order, clean, and presentable. The room was very nice with a small kitchenette. (ie. fridge, range, microwave) the staff is very friendly and helpful. We will be coming back to stay there again.

Good

Good location for the price. Near downtown and the river park. This is an old "motor court" hotel that has been renovated very nicely, except for parking, which is sized for model T's. You WILL put a ding in your rental car.

Resort of "Last Resort" – Posted Mar 18, 2007

Horrible
55 year old male with a luxury budget, traveling for leisure

We flew into Reno on March 13th 2007 for the National Men's Bowling Tournament. We only had two weeks notice to fill and virtually all the casino rooms were booked. We read the reviews on the Leisure Resort in Reno and said we would have faith and give it a try.

We checked in early evening. We were told to use the in-room safe (cost of $1.12/day) and were strongly encouraged to use it for all valuables. Walking to the room it looked like a "pay by the hour" flop house. It had dirty walls, fluorescent lights of various hues and an elevator that sounded like it was grinding to its last death.

Our room door faced the back of the facility and felt like the slums of Puerto Rico. The room was tired. Light bulb missing in one lamp, the bathroom so small it was hard to get in/out of. The bed must have been around for a decade and must have been the cheapest they could find.

The room got really warm (outside was around 80 degrees) so we turned on the air conditioning. It blew hot air. We went down to the desk and the attendant said they would have maintenance check on it but that they had gone home for the day. The next morning we went back to the desk and asked about the air only to be told that our room was on the main building system which had "seasonal" air so there was nothing to be done.

It was suggested that we not walk outside at night. The hotel sits next to the county courthouse and has a wide range of types of travelers.

I could go on but there is little point. We can sincerely say that this is a place you should avoid at all costs. You would be better off staying almost anywhere else.
