This is a hidden treasure in the beautiful Catskills region. The rooms are comfy, cozy, warm and clean; the scenery-breathtaking. The B&B is family owned and run, which adds a nice personal touch, and they were all incredibly helpful, accomodating...

My girlfriend and I just moved into our new townhouse together, so we see each other every day now. However, between unpacking, setting up, shopping for new fixtures and furnitures, we have not had a "quiet" moment in almost 3 months. This getaway...

Step into a setting from a by-gone area. The stress of a hectic lifestyle is erased by the level of comfort and service provided by inn-keepers, Lea and Jo Moffett. The rooms are light, airy, spacious and beautifully decorated with luxurious...

24 year old female with a luxury budget, traveling for leisure

My SO and I went for Labor Day weekend. We arrived at 10 PM on Friday and left 11 am on Sunday. At 10, the owner was up to speak to us and give us our keys to the Esopus. It is a small room, and I was a little hesitant about it, but it is great.

I dreaded the bed most, because the last place we stayed had a very hard one. This bed was soft with excellent pillows and an amazing comforter. I loved this blanket so much I wanted to take it home -- it was extremely soft, like the best old t-shirt, and a couple of inches thick, providing the perfect amount of warmth for the colder nights. The room also had a TV, alarm clock, and Ipod docking station. We shared a pretty bathroom, and, honestly, sharing a bathroom is no big deal. They also had a book case right outside our door with a ton of things to read, ranging from fiction to "100 habits of successful people".

Breakfast was delightful. We're not social, but the other two couples at the table were, so.. just be aware that this could be awkward. That said, the food was great. The first morning, we had scrambled eggs, a beautifully fluffy waffle, raisin bread, fruit, and tasty sausage. It smells great even from your room. The bread was fresh, as was the jam. The napkins were softer than anything I've seen. The coffee, just so-so. The owner was great -- he asked us if we wanted seconds.

The second morning, it smelled even better. The table was crowded by the time we got down to breakfast, so we waited awhile on the couch, then the owner, very considerately, set up a table by the window in the living room for us so we wouldn't have to wait anymore. We had tomato and cheese omelets, whole-wheat English muffins, melon, and more sausage. The tomatoes were from the back garden and incredibly fresh.

There was indeed wifi, too, and I made excellent use of it. Someone was watching sports on the projector at one point, so it does work. When we came in Saturday night -- too late, unfortunately -- The owner had written a note that he had had a fire going and people could come down and make smores if they wanted.

All in all, I was really happy. I've had much worse service for a higher price. The food, room, and service was excellent. The owner is really friendly, making the reservation was flawless, and the area is pretty nice. We actually went to the NY state fair, so we didn't spend too much time in the Catskills, but I know one of the other couples just chilled out on their porch-balcony and read for awhile.

There are only two down sides -- one, there was no remote for the TV. Two, it's hard to get to Windham in the dark. The lodge can't help this, of course -- it's part of the Catskills in general -- but some of the roads are really twisty, and it was incredibly easy to miss turns.

31 year old female with a luxury budget, traveling for leisure

This Bed and Breakfast is run by three brothers in their late 20's or early 30's. As usual when I first arrived to this bed and breakfast I felt a little uncomfortable as if I was in someones house, but they met us at the door and walked us up to our room(Catskill Suite) and invited us to a glass of wine when we got settled in. This was such a nice touch and it gave us 15 minutes to talk and get some good ideas of where we should eat and what we should do for the weekend. We went to Horton Smith House to eat and it was an excellent meal with a nice atmosphere and on top of that they have a bar and a band was playing so we stayed their to watch the band after dinner.

The next day we had one of the best breakfasts I have ever had at a B&B. They started us out with a yogurt dish with some fresh strawberries and blueberries mixed in, and followed that with a small cheese omelot and half of a waffle with real maple syrup. It was the perfect way to start the day! Then we went for a hike over at Kaaterskill Falls. It was absolutely beautiful and finished the day at North Lake. What a wonderful day! I went to get a massage at the Windham Spa that night and we went to an Italian Restaurant up the street after that. I forget the name, but it was also very good.

The next day we woke up to a similar breakfast. Which was also very good. Saturday they cooked for us and Sunday too. They seemed to feed off of each other to one up each other all in good fun. I think they were both about equally delicious! After checking out we drove down to Woodstock and spent another great day in the charming town of Woodstock. We had such a great time and I am sure we will be back. I am excited to see the fall folliage!
