After viewing the beautiful mansions in Newport why not eat at the very best? To start the wine list is amazing! We sat on the patio and enjoyed the beautiful view. Service is top notch and the food is to die for! We had the butter poached lobster...

Our $835 second floor room was nicely appointed albeit cramped. The bath was very pretty but there was no water pressure in the shower. Our room was above the busy kitchen so we heard dinner being prepped at 5pm and at 11pm heard recycling bins being dumped below our window.
The round dining room was beautiful especially at sunset. The meal spanned two hours and 20 minutes. Service was very slow. Food was good but we had a bad half bottle of '03 Opus One for $144. The "sommelier" /maitre d' told us that the bottle "met with his satisfaction" but he offered to help us find something we would like better. He did not seem to understand that there is no wine we like better than Opus One and that this was a bad bottle. He returned 20 minutes later to pour a glass of a nice French Bordeaux which he said "is my gift to you". The bill arrived with the $144 bottle on it which we did not question since he poured 3 other glasses of wine with no charge. After giving our credit card, the waiter came back with a revised bill without the wine.
Seven years ago, we had the duck and were stricken with food poisoning in the middle of the night. We thought given the Relais & Chateau designation, it would be safe to return to Castle Hill. We won't be fooled again.

Well what a great view wonderful food and service. However you got to be out of your mind to spend 2,000.00 for two nites. While this was a special event even that doesn't justify the outragous expense.

Absolutely unbelievable location on a seaside bluff outside of Newport. Amazing views of the Newport Harbor Bridge, the bay and boats sailing by. The rooms are each unique and combine modern amenities with historical charm. The food was fantastic, from lobster omelets at breakfast to afternoon tea to dinner. Having a drink at sunset on the lawn was the best. A perfect size - big enough to have anything you want, but intimate enough that the service is fantastic. Not a great value dollar-wise, but a great place to stay.
pros: loving setting, good food, good serviceThe restaurant at the Castle Hill Inn is one of the nicest places for celebrations or entering friends. The service is great as well as the food. For after dinner drinks, or for that matter before...
We came to the Inn for our 10 year anniversary and will going back again! It is a very romantic setting, the rooms are beautifully decorated, the bar and sitting areas are elegant and comfortable. The meals were that of the best we've ever had. ...
