Horrible
We usually go to Kalahari's down the road, but they were booked, so we thought we would try a new place. Maybe we are spoiled from Kalaharis (even before they expanded), but Castaway was not impressive and its not worth the price. The Hotel is ...
The water park is a joke and the hotel service is even worse. I've had better stays in $30 a night hotels. Do not stay here if you value a good nights sleep, decent food, security, or service.
The water-park is much smaller than what it appeared to be. The hotel staff do not have the ability to manage difficult guests, and are perfectly willing to sacrifice the quality of your stay. The walls between the rooms are so thin that you can see ...
we go to waterparks so i know what to expect. we get there and the staff acted like the "had to be there". the room that was suggested for 6 people, omg there was no room in there. no table to eat at, we had to sit on the bed to eat our...
First let me say the staff is AMAZING!!! They are on top of every request and so friendly!!! We have 2 children 16 and 7yrs old and they were both extremely pleased with the Waterpark!!! It was small enough to give our 7 yr old some freedom yet it...
We have a 7-yr. old and a 4-yr. old and they absolutely love Castaway Bay! This was our first experience with the children at an indoor water park so we did not know what to expect. I was surprised that the kids loved the Water Park so much that...

When we arrived checking in was fairly quick but when we got to our room it smelled to bad we asked for another room. It was a little better at least you could look at the so called bay. I feel it was way over priced for the room. I have stayed in hotels for much much cheaper and at least it felt clean. The water park was OK it entertained my teens for at least a couple hours. We ended cutting our trip short and upon early check out they didn't ask how our stay was or why we were checking out early. The park had some good rides but the lines were 1 to 1.5 hours wait and they don't do very good entertaining to pass the time. The mister fans they had for the lines had slime hanging off of them.(Nasty!) This is a place I would not recommend or return to. It's pretty bad when the kids are begging to go home!
THE BEST INDOOR WATER PARK EVER!

After having to leave the filthy Microtel, we ended up at Castaway Bay because there was literally nothing else available elsewhere. Though this was better much better than the Microtel, it wasn't the quality I expected.
Mattresses could have been much better quality. I want a good nights sleep on vacation.
The lobby was nice, but the in room amenities weren't great. No wifi conection, and everything was so expensive. For instance, a 12 inch Pizza Hut pizza 1/2 pepperoni & 1/2 cheese cost us $22.00.
Seeing that this is owned by Cedar Point, it would have been so nice for them to have shuttle service to the park, instead they make you pay $10.00 (full price) to park. There were no ticket bargains that couldn't be found elsewhere. I would have liked to have the option to not use their indoor waterpark for a reduced fee. I'm so tired of being taken advantage of financially, unfortunately I felt very financially taken advantage of at Cedar Point.
The room was clean, sans the many F bombs that magically appeared on the bathroom mirror when the bathroom was steamed up. This leads me to believe that not all surfaces are thoroughly wiped down after every use.
And beware the so called deal packages listed in the big brochure sent out at the beginning of the year. The brochure offers what appears to be a 2 night package at a price worth the extra bucks, but doesn't mention that this price is per night. Because there are no discounts given on admission, etc..., you can pick and choose your own extras and save. This package is not worth the extra money, and believe me, it's all about the money.
