This intimate motel features 18 guestrooms with the option of both non-smoking and smoking rooms. All rooms are equipped with cable television including free HBO and free wireless high-speed Internet access. Within walking distance to the Monterey Fairgrounds featuring year round events such as the world famous Monterey Jazz Festival. Minutes to Downtown Monterey, the Monterey Convention Center, and the Naval Postgraduate School. The gentleman at the front desk was friendly and helpful, the outside of the place was very attractive. However, the smell in the room was awful it just didn't go away even after we left. The bed felt as though it was a box springs with the covers over it. the carpet was filthy stained with dark red spots and, I presume, the source of the bad odor. The place left you feeling dirty. Not worth it at any price.

The Casa Verde Inn is under new management, and the new owner is a very agreeable man who went out of his way to accomodate me. He was extremely helpful and very nice.
