It took approximately 90 minutes between checking in, waiting for the elevator and getting to our room. Our condo rental was dirty! It required two phone calls to get our room cleaned. We had the following problems with maintenance: (1) a visit at 10:30PM to deliver a fan we hadnt requested and (2) I requested that the balcony sliding door be fixed and the maintenance rep was sent to the wrong room. The bathroom area was very tight and rust spots throughout the bathroom. Per my wife, the outdoor pool was small and very crowded.
Finally, it is not near the OC Boardwalk so you will have to drive or take the bus.
I don't know if The Carousel offers room service and did not try the bar/restaurant.

Good
The rooms were clean and spacious, and right on the beach. Free beach chairs. It was tired and needs new painting, wall decorations, and carpets cleaned. For a last minute trip to Ocean City, this hotel served its purpose as it was right on the beach ...

We stayed the week of July 23rd, 2006. My kids, ages 15, 12, 11 and 5 all found things they loved. We didn't have to leave the resort! My kids appreciated the variety and the staff was great. The kids camp is incredible! Vacation is what you make it, not what the hotel makes it! It's a family spot, not a romantic getaway. We're going back.

Their advertisement looked great, and we were extremely excited about our stay. Upon arrival, we were immediately disappointed! This place looks nothing like a real resort! They are charging resort prices for motel-type rooms.
The room, although very clean, was very outdated, the lighting was poor & made us all look ill, the carpets were very worn. The tile at the entrance area had a huge crack in it and a chunk was missing. The area with the microwave, sink, and coffeemaker were very poor looking as well. The cabinets were cracked and stained and in some areas had pink mold. The smoke alarm kept setting off in our room during the middle of the night on two of our nights there. This was not a peaceful getaway. They could not fix it, so they adjusted our bill for -$20.00 for those two nights. The pool was very murky and the water was yellow. It is also extremely small for their so-called resort and all the money they charge. Ocean City is a beautiful place, but we will never stay at this overpriced and over-advertised hotel again!

This was the worst, most enraging, and rudest place I have ever had the misfortune of spending four days in. My friends and family rented four rooms over Easter weekend 2006. We choose the hotel for all the activities for the kids, we had five kids with us. Unfortunately, all the free activities were closed down, so the only thing the kids had to do was ice skate and play video games. One at a time we were going down to the front desk to find out when the pool, hot tub, sauna, and weight room would reopen. We kept being told different stories as to why and when. At no time were the four of us told the same thing.
On the 2nd day after I finally asked to speak to the manager we were finally informed that another hotel would allow us to use their pool, but we were never told the whole time that this was available to hotel guests. We were never rude, we just asked about the pool, but after learning about the other pool I asked to be compensated even if it was only free ice skating for the kids. No compensation we ever made. I realize that things break down, my beef is how can four different people get four different answers to the same question? Beside after 20 years of dealing with the public one thing I have learned is just be honest with your customers and treat them with respect. There is no communication between management and staff. This whole situation could have been avoided with a simple sign on the pool doors explaining that the other pool across the street was available. There was a hand written sign saying pool area closed until further notice, so its not like they could not re-write the sign.
I was down there with a back injury, taking pain killers and Xanax, by the time I got done talking to the manager I was shaking all over, so much for a nice relaxing weekend like my doctor suggested.
