I'm getawaygary but forgot my user name/password. Here is an update to about 7 good years. The motel was sold to Americas Best value Inns and is deplorable! The old management (also the owners) were customer focused and professional inn keepers.
You must check this out. Chris the manager, is reason enough to stay here. Great guy, friendly, lots of attention to detail. We found out about this place through the motel ads you see in those magazines at restaurants. Most units are stand alone....
60 year old male with a luxury budget, traveling for leisure
I have been staying at this motel for about 6 years now. I come to the area 7-8 times a year and have for about 20 years. I discovered this gem about 6 years ago and have stayed here exclusively since then. It is quiet, quaint, clean, and well priced. Who could ask for anything more! The rooms are always neat and clean and the staff is attentive and friendly. It is mostly individual cottages and the grounds are attractive with many large trees. I could stay anywhere (within reason) I want to and I choose the Carmel Resort Inn as my motel of choice. I have sent several friends to this motel and all have liked it and returned. Try it, you will be pleasantly surprised. It is close to everything in the area without feeling touristy.

I come to the area 6 - 8 time a year. I ALWAYS stay at the Carmel Resort Inn since I "discovered" it about 6 years ago. I love the cottages and charm of the neighborhood. The rooms are always quiet, clean and comfortable, and the staff is very pleasant. I have been coming to the area for about 20 years, I wish I had discovered this place years ago. Try it, you will like it. I have recommended it to several people I know and they have all been happy and become steady customers. I like the funky old decor, if I wanted impersonal modern, then I would stay in a cookie cutter chain. A good value for the money, and it truly is a bargain for the carmel area.
