Excellent

Newly remodeled with a spa like decor. Plush bathrobes, flat screen TV, nice pool and double spa outdoors. Pet friendly hotel. Great location next to quaint shops and eateries. Our room was near the maids closet and elevator, which was noisey. Ask for a room away from that area.

VERY BAD HOUSE KEEPING! – Posted Dec 29, 2008

Horrible
with a budget, traveling for leisure

We stayed at the Carmel Mission Inn on December 27, 2008. Upon packing our bags and getting ready to leave our room, my son found a used condom and wrapper under the bed. Needless to say we were pretty disgusted with the whole thing. Gross!! After complaining to the front desk and speaking to the manager about it, all they did was take 50% off the bill. For a bio hazard experience such as this one, you would think they would have completely waived the room charge. We have been staying at the Carmel Mission Inn for many years now and will be seeking accomadations elsewhere for our future trips to the Carmel area. STAY AWAY!! A very dirty place. P.S. I forgot to mention the used ear Q-tips on the floor in the elevator. Yuck!

Bad Experience – Posted Aug 24, 2008

Horrible
with a budget, traveling for leisure

I booked a king size room here for myself, my wife, my baby and our two small dogs. When we checked into our room it reeked of cigarette smoke. My wife is very sensitive to that and obviously it is unacceptable for the baby. All of the rooms in the hotel were non-smoking, but obviously someone had broken that rule. The front desk tried to switch us to another room, but they were all booked and the two rooms that had not checked in needed the two beds that they had booked. The front desk tried to find us another place to stay, but all of the pet-friendly hotels in town were also booked. Needless to say we were very unhappy.

Good
32 year old male with a economy budget, traveling for leisure

We had a great stay in March 2006. The room was clean, nicely decorated, and felt fairly luxurious for a Best Western. The robes were a nice touch as well. The service was friendly and the location was good for being in the village. Obviously it's a drive to downtown Carmel but there are many dining and shopping options right next to the hotel, which was great. Overall, I was extremely satisfied with the experience.

39 year old female with a moderate budget, traveling for leisure

The Carmel Mission Inn hotel was a very good value with comfortable rooms and bathrobes. It was convenient to shopping and restaurants.

The room security was standard but consistent. The exterior doors to the hotel were not propped open and they required key use.

I am very likely to return to the Carmel Mission Inn.
I would definitely recommend it to friends.

I found the front desk to be very friendly and helpful. I got to the room and noticed it clean and tidy. You should be happy with the hotel WIFI. The bed was nothing to write home about. My only complaint was the light that stayed on all night...

Mediocre
51 year old male with a moderate budget, traveling for leisure

My wife and I stated at the Carmel Mission Inn just recently (August 2007) and we were pleased with the location. It is strategically located and great for getting around. Another great aspect of the motel is that it is PET FRIENDLY. Big plus for them. Having said that, we were totally underwhelmed by the accomodations based on the price. We paid nearly $270 on one night and $170 on two other nights. I'd have really had to think hard again to pay over $150 any night. A word to the wise, we looked at the photos of the motel on several sights and got caught by the appearance of the valance/canopy over the beds. Unfortunately our room didn't have one - and that was a real selling point for us.

A couple of other cons - if you are staying on the first floor, which are the rooms for pet owners, don't expect a patio of any form. Also, note that you'll not have a microwave. We experienced a bathroom nightlight that had a mind of its own during our stay. Also, don't expect to have any restaurant facilities except for morning meals. Although, there are very close restaurants both behind and across the street from the motel. All-in-all we summarized our stay as adequate but certainly over-priced.

Good

I found this to be a comfortable place. The furnishings were very nice. (The mattress was nicer than mine.) It was clean. Everything worked. Desk staff was nice. Several nice restaurants in adjoining shopping complexes within walking distance.
