I found my stay at this hotel to be a pleasurable one. The room had been recently renovated and was clean and neatly decorated, bed was comfortable; an overall peaceful stay. The customer service was excellent; the staff was so friendly and courteous and very helpful to me and my family. They offer a free shuttle service, and went out of their way to make sure I got to and from my doctors appointments on time. The breakfast was only coffee and doughnuts, but they were conveniently located right next door to a place where I could get something a little more solid. They even took me on personal trips to the nearby grocery stores, restaurants, etc...which was a first for me. I enjoyed my stay and would definetely return again.

I have stayed in this CareFree Inn about 14 times in the past 2 1/2 years. It has had some growing pains as the owner tried to make things better. The rooms have always been clean and usually maintained. There have been a few exceptions.

The last stay was on 12/8/07 and has convinced me to never stay there again.

The man at the desk insisted that I give him a credit card for their records, even though I was paying cash. He claimed that it was a new policy "in case anything gets damaged". I objected before handing it over.

The room I was directed to had a family in it. The desk clerk insisted that the room was empty. When he looked at the family he said that he knew them. Then he assigned me another room. After watching his actions I have no reason to believe that he changed the record of my check-in to reflect the new room assignment.

So here was a family who had not checked in, and probably had not paid, in the room I was originally assigned. If they trash the room will I be the one who gets billed? I'll know that one shortly.

I also have to dispute the rating. Two stars is too much. At best this is a one star. They can't trust me to respect their property and require a credit card "just in case". I can't bring myself to stay there again.

It was as expected... a place to stay. The hotel was on a bad side of town, though. I wish I had known before I stayed there. I would have stayed somewhere else.
