35 year old female with a moderate budget, traveling for leisure
The inn was uncooperative, uncommunicative, and has poor accounting practices. Very displeased and ended up canceling my wedding reception to be held here.
I had a planned a wedding event at the Inn - and ended up canceling. I have never experienced such poor management, shoty accounting practices, event coordination turnover and communication breakdowns in my life.
I found the Inn to be very charming. We couldn't hear anyone in the room next to us and the bar noise died down about 10, when we headed up to bed. The floors upstairs are creaky, but that is to be expected in a 100+ year old building. The...

I found the Inn to be very charming. We stayed in the historic building itself. The floors upstairs are creaky, but that is to be expected in a 100+ year old building. We went out on th edock and the place didn't seem to be in a state of disrepai at all. At $105 per night for a water view room we felt like we got what we paid for. The restaurant is closed, but the continental breakfast was one of the better ones I've seen, and the staff was happy to give us dinner recommendations. We will defiantly consider visiting again, but maybe not until they have a restaurant.

I would not recommend staying here unless the price is lowered to a more appropriate level as this is not 3 or 4 star accomodation in my view. We stayed two nights in a Lagoon room and found it to be well below what we would expect of a $165.00 per night room. The double bed was very lumpy and uncomfortable, the tap dripped and the fixtures were old and stained. The gardens were lovely but the dock on the water was closed likely due to safety concerns. We were fortunate that there were not many guests when we stayed so it was fairly quiet but being an older building in a motel style it would be best to stay on the top floor. I'm not sure about the inn rooms but when having breakfast on the main floor the creaking of people walking above was very loud. The breakfast was fine and the inn keeper was very friendly.

Horrible
I spent two nights at Captain Whidbeys while attending a writers conference on the island. The rooms are small (their web site calls them hobbit sized), and I only had one tiny window, which made me regret spending extra on the view room. The...
There are gaps around the rustic beams that make the sounds of one room filter into the next. Yes its rustic but if you aren't willing to have a weekend akin to kid sleepover camp, don't bother. The food is overpriced and not worth it.
Nothing like the pictures, dirty, rooms very basic with minimal attempt by Inn to make it attractive or pleasing to the consumer. Expensive for what you get. Bar out of common drink ingrediants, restaurant not open for breakfast. Is located on small ...
