I've stayed at a number of reasonably priced motels in Lincoln City, over the past 5 years. However, straying from the Captain Cook Inn proved to be a good choice.
The Captain Cook Inn is centrally located on busy, noisy Highway 101, but, the room has a nice machine, which creates different sounds, to distract from the traffic noises outdoors. The rooms are always clean, but the walls are a bit thin. My biggest pet peeve about this motel is the staff, whom also happen to be the owners of the motel.
I was upset over being treated rudely by the owner. Then, I decided to stay elsewhere during my last few stays in Lincoln City, but, once again, this trip, I decided to stay at Captain Cook Inn, hoping someone had just had a bad day, and I wanted to go back there one more time and, this time I was treated rudely by the owner again. Therefore I will not go back to stay at Captain Cook Inn on my next trip to Lincoln City.
The rooms are reasonably priced, extremely clean, safe, cutely decorated, and look nice from the outside. But, the owners have a terrible disposition, as if I were intruding into their private world, so, I recommend this place. If you're just looking for a quick night's rest, it's OK, but if you're looking for nice folks, go farther up or down the road!
This hotel is a pet friendly hotel, but, you will be lectured upon check-in, about how "she" doesnt want dog poop in "her" flowers! You will also have your choice of smoking or non-smoking, and if you say smoking, you will be lectured on how you will not throw butts on "her" ground, because she's tired of picking them up on her property!
On a brighter note, Mo's has the best food, service, ambiance and very reasonably priced meals, with a short wait, even on the busiest day, and, The Outlet Mall Stores have wonderfully friendly sales persons to brighten your day. Happy Beachcombing!
