We stayed at The Camelot Inn for our getaway weekend. Initial appearance was a letdown from pictures on the internet. We wanted a Jacuzzi room and a King Bed and thought anot
I would like to warn you about the Camelot Inn Niagara Falls, I travelled to canada to see the niagara falls, and my travel was completely ruined by the motel.

I've stayed at the Camelot Inn on more than one occation, mainly due to it's location and price. It's located within walking distance of 'the strip' in downtown Niagara Falls, and also within walking distance of the falls. It's not too far off of the highway, and easy to find. The rooms were clean, but looking in need of some updates. There is no bar soap, instead they provide liquid shower gel (which smells quite nice). Seeing as it's never very busy, the employees have always let me leave my car in the parking lot after checking-out so that I can enjoy my last day in Niagara Falls. For the price, it's not a bad place to stay.
Fair Deal, Clean room but we could always find bet

Well, I thought we got a good deal for a family suite in downtown niagara area. But, this inn's family suite is one of the worst - especially during Winter time. To start off, the hopeless reception desk guy couldn't find our reservation (anyways reservation is not needed for this place - almost empty). Then, we made a new booking for the same price and all seemed ok until we entered the room. The main disappointments: the carpet looked like 1900 made, all 3 beds in both the rooms were making noise, the a/c which is no good for winter was making a lot of noise, 1 a/c for 2 rooms, awful washroom, terrible window scene. Almost everything was bad, and to add to it there was no phone line in the suite, uhh, can you believe it? Anyways, too bad a place to go again. Not recommended at all.
We made the mistake of not reading reviews for this motel before booking. The room was very, very dirty. Cigararette burns everywhere on carpet, sheets, blankets. Long black hairs found on towels, sink, and tub. Staff was very unfriendly and...

I booked this room based on information at a website; unfortunately, the photos grossly misrepresented the condition of the room. There was peeling plaster, old outdated lamps which caused the room to be dimly lit and dingy looking, and even faulty-looking wires on one lamp that we chose to unplug for safety reasons. If this had been a winter stay, blowing snow common to this area would have been coming in under the door. (There was a 1/2" gap.)
The heavy drapes were one-panel-per-window which rendered them inoperable, so the only way to allow light into the darkened room was to remove them from the rod and have them hanging, which is how we found the room when we arrived. The toilet paper spindle roll was missing, and the "3 piece bathroom" consisted of a toilet, sink, and tub, which was home to the world's worst shower.
There was no telephone in the room, and we found the remote control for the TV under the bed on the last morning of our stay. It was void of any decorations, except for an art print above the bed.
The pool was finally ready to be swam in approx 30 minutes before check-out time our last morning there, despite repeated requests to swim in it.
The positives include: pleasant staff (despite an overworked cleaning lady who forgot to come back to our room to vacuum/replenish towels at my request after we left for a day of sightseeing), walking distance to nearby attractions, and a refrigerator and A/C unit in the room. No additional charges for children beyond the standard 2, which is common at other hotels. And thank goodness, no uninvited critters. (Although, based on the appearance of the place, I was half-expecting to find one.)
I guess I'm still wondering how they got their AAA "diamond rating" plaques hanging in the beautiful lobby...hmm, maybe AAA didn't actually go into a room.
