We have been to the Cambria Pines Lodge a few times. The best rooms to stay in are the cabins by the pool since they don't have any upstairs neighbors and appear to be the most insulated. If a cabin isn't available, don't bother...
We spent New Year at the Cambria Pines Lodge. We arrived on the 30th and after checking in at the desk went directly to the lounge to rest after our 3 hour drive. Our drinks were delivered promptly and we ordered a few appetizers. I recommend goat cheese with garlic.
We ate New Years dinner at the lodge. Be sure to make reservations. We saw a few unhappy people being turned away who hadn't made reservations. The scallops were wonderful and the lamb with pomegranate sauce looked amazing.
They had a live band in a large banquet room in the back of the lounge. They played classic rock and the floor was mostly full of happy dancers throughout the evening.
New Years day we had facials at the Sojourn spa. I have had half a dozen facials previously and this was by far the most relaxing facial. Two of my girl friends had their first facials ever and were in aw of the experience. Be sure to book these in advance. I had the 60 minute facial with the mud treatment but next time I'm getting the 80 minute facial with the back and neck massage seemed like the best overall deal as we girls compared notes.
Each morning we went to the breakfast buffet and had scrambled eggs, potatoes, sausage and fresh grapefruit. They also had pancakes and biscuits and gravy but I didn�t try them.
If you can afford it get one of the large suites with a bedroom, fridge, microwave and fireplace. Very cozy. We had a deck and a view of the forest. The bed had a wonderful down comforter.
My wife and I enjoyed our stay at Cambria Pines Lodge. We enjoyed the Christmas Decorations all around the garden area. Our accomations were great. The complentory breakfast was good, but not that great.The tolet had a small leak under the tile or...
