The Caliente Tropics Resort in Palm Springs, California opened again in March of 2001 after undergoing over $2 million in renovations. It's a prime example of one of the last standing Polynesian-themed motor hotels out of the 60's. Our Tiki and Polynesian style Palm Springs hotel now offers rooms that are both spacious and luxurious, with unique furnishings. Our exterior has been re-designed to reflect the mid-century look of when this Palm Springs resort first opened back in 1964.
Relax, swim, and enjoy the spectacular mountain views surrounded by the aura of the tiki torches, where Nancy Sinatra lived and Elvis visited. The hotel in Palm Springs offers indoor/outdoor meeting space for up to 250 people. We are in a prime location and are the first choice when it comes to Palm Springs vacation rentals. We offer only non-smoking rooms and are always pet-friendly. Room packages are available for you to experience the best in Palm Springs Hotels.

Good
Takes pets. Not the best neighborhood. I thought for the price and the fact they allow pets, it was a great place to stay. The pool area is really nice. The room was clean and the staff was very friendly.
Pay attention to the bad reviews. This place is loud (partyers all day and night, construction non-stop), dirty (maids everywhere but in your room cleaning; they appear to be the only ones living here), and rude (management who could not care less). I also agree with the review which states how unattended the place is at night ... That is, unattended by every one except the low lifes that troll around the parking lot blaring music. Also avoid the Mexican restaurant on the property - like the hotel, not cheap, and very bad.
I had to spend one night with my two kids in this hotel. The guy at the front desk gave us two keys for two rooms. We went to the first room and the key didn't work. I had to go down to the front desk and wait another 15 minutes to get another...
This was not a resort. If you are looking for the Hyatt stay there. They had a great pool with tons of spots to catch rays and a poolside bar. The bar ("The Reef") was totally cool although the price of a Coors Light fluctuated between 2.50 ...

Okay
We stayed two nights in this hotel in October 2007 for a wedding. I was in a double room with my two small children and several friends were in other rooms. The rooms are really attractive and have been rehabbed to a nice standard, especially the...

Good deal. We were a bit skeptical about this hotel from the price compared to others in the area. We decided to book it and if need be switch hotels once we got into Palm Springs. The hotel was nice, especially for the price. My wife will not stay in a place that is not comfortable, clean, and decent. We stayed the full time. The hotel was clean, the pool was fantastic, and the staff - even maintenance - was extremely nice and helpful. We would stay here again. The price is very good and the location isn't bad either.
I am very likely
to return to the Caliente Tropics Resort.
I would definitely recommend it to friends.
My wife and I stayed here. The pool is beautiful. The rooms are all non-smoking. There is a nice lawn area. The rooms aren't much to talk about, but we weren't planning on doing much in the room anyway. The bed was very nice however. ...

Excellent
Friendly staff, clean room, good location. Not the nay welder, but did not expect it to be at the price we paid. It was a nice motel for the money and was close to all. The staff was of great help to answer all area questions asked. We are grateful...
