41 year old female with a moderate budget, traveling for leisure

This was a terrible hotel. I trusted the 4 star rating and the description over the phone from the sales agent. When we got to the hotel it was absolutely nothing as described. We wanted to leave and would have, had there been any other availabe rooms elsewhere (it was the weekend of the Pocono 500 and no other rooms were available). We then refused to take the room they had booked for us. The decor was so old and outdated a Super 8 would have looked better. The carpet was old, stained, and smelled and had not even been vacuumed. We proceeded to look at 3 other rooms with the hotel manager to get us into anything that would be acceptalbe for 2 nights. We had driven 3 hours for a weekend getaway and was the first in 2 years for my husband and I. I cannot beleive we paid $300 per night for any of these room shown to us. We ended up taking a room that had a small pool and sauna in the bottom floor and living/bedroom area on top floor. This room would have been more than $300 but the manager gave it to us for the same rate to pevent an irate scene in the lobby. Even this room was not worth the money. The hotel markets their hotel very well but most of it is exxagerated or fabricated. The rooms were old, smelled and looked extremely tacky! The champagne breakfast in bed was comical. They showed up to our room with our breakfast (only bagel sandwiches offered for room service), 2 bottles of orange juice and a small 8 oz bottle of cheap champagne with 2 plastic champagne glasses all packaged up in a box like a take out order at a fast food restaurant. I relied on the price of the room, the fact that is was a resort and the 4 star rating to guide me on my choice. Will never make that mistake again and will never go to any of the Caesars resorts in the Poconos.

29 year old female with a moderate budget, traveling for leisure

We stayed at the Poconos Palace Fairway Suites during the memorial day weekend. Our initial reservation was for 2 nights (sat and sun). But when we saw the room, we cancelled 1 night. In fact, we couldnt even sleep on the bed and had to drive back to NJ that very night.

Room:

Run-down 70s decor, cheap motel look, old bed and mattress, stains all over the carpets, some of the wall designs were covered in dust and it is right above the bed, heart-shaped whirlpool which is highly advertised looks old and the drain is rusty (we dare not even step in it), the toilet bowl has some brown stuff rusty stuff in there (disgusting). The whole room or even the hotel lobby reeks of rotting algae. It is worse than a motel and the worst place i have ever been to. How can anyone be able to spend a holiday in a place which is 100 times worse than your own home??

Food:

All-inclusive and fine dining - the food were served in trays that looks like hospital trays. Some of the food covers i saw were old and dirty-brown in color. They took really slow to serve the food. When the food finally came, it was just mediocre. I wanted a medium porterhouse steak and the steak came under-cooked. Almost half the steak was raw. My creamed spinach had a strand of hair in it. Again, i was very disappointed.

For the price that we were paying, this is absolutely unacceptable. I had read the good reviews before i went there. Until now, i still find it so wierd that people can give good reviews about this place. When we were in the restaurant, many people were obviously very unhappy with the place.

I will never return to this place again and neither will i recommend it to anyone, except my enemies.

25 year old male with a moderate budget, traveling for leisure

Me and my wife went here for a 'romantic getaway'. The place was very low class, everything was run down, and the food sucked. For this price go get your self a fancy suit in Atlantic City, you will have 10 times more fun and actually enjoy some class. I cant believe they get away with charging $400 plus a night...

20 year old female with a economy budget, traveling for leisure

this place was so amazing.. me and my boyfriend went to celebrate our three year anniversary together.. we booked a decent room and showed up early for our complimentary breakfast.. after breakfast when we went to check in the man at the desk upgraded our room to the roman towers.. which was sooo exciting to us because this was our dream room but it was way to expensive for the last min trip.. it was 10:30 and he gave us the key to our room when check in wasnt until 4 so that was really nice.. so we went to our room and i could not believe how cool it was.. it was fantastic.. if i was locked inside of the room all weekend i wouldnt have minded. we had a 7ft champagne glass whirlpool in our living room, a heart shaped pool, a steam shower, a sauna and the bedroom was so romantic the bed was big and comfortable we had stars on the ceiling that could be turned on at night.. the food for breakfast and dinner were unbelievable.. and it was all you can eat so you can order as much as you want.. at night we saw a band and a comedian. the comedian was really good.. i would love to go back as soon as i can afford it again.. it was very romantic!
