My husband, my four year old and I made the trek in to the White Mountains from southern Maine to go to Santa's village last weekend and were booked for two nights at the Cabot Inn. With just twenty minutes until we were to arrive at the Inn, on a Friday night, our transmission in our SUV went (of course it was snowing, dark and very cold). To make a long story short, a good Samaritan named Larry gave us a ride to the Inn-The Triple A tow truck didn't have enough room for a family! When we arrived at the Inn, Britney (at the check-in desk), felt so badly as to the night we had, she said she would make sure our family got to Santa's village the next day (since we didn't have a car and there isn't taxi service in that area-yet). Since it was late and we were hungry, she also offered me her car if I needed to go out to get food (the restaurant in the Inn was closed). The next day, while on my way to a great continental breakfast, the manager, Monty, came over to let me know that he would personally drive us to Santa's village and get my husband to the garage where our SUV was. Everything worked out, except we're now in need of a new car right before x-mas! I will never forget the compassion of all the staff at this Inn. They treated us like family, and made a four year olds wish to see Santa come true. We will definitely go back next year! We loved our king deluxe room too! Extremely spacious and nicely decorated!
