The entire neiborhood is being reclaimed to it's original beauty. The home is a work in progress, but well worth my visit. I plan to visit again next year to enjoy another performance of Broad St.

The inkeeper is a wonderful host. She was extremely helpful, knowledgeable, warm and just a gem of a lady. She loves what she does and once the renovations are complete, it will be a lovely place to stay. But, at the time we stayed the porch...

Marney is very helpful, providing info on dining choices, sites in Philadelphia, directions to anywhere. As with any house, things are constantly being improved and refurbished-great poofy beds and furnishings and art are right in period. Great...

It's almost falling down – Posted May 02, 2007

Horrible
25 year old female with a luxury budget, traveling for leisure

I unfortunately stayed at the Burbridge Street Bed and

Breakfast. When I booked the trip, I was looking

forward a nice weekend at a quaint little antique house.

However, when I reached my destination it was all but

falling down and not even close to center city, as it is

so frequently advertised. In addition to being in a

neighborhood I would not even want to drive through, the

interior of the house was a mess. There was a large

hole in our bedroom wall with an outlet hanging out of

it. The faucet for the bathtub was held together by

duct tape, and the shower head was held up by hanging it

over the shower curtain, leading to very chilly

conditions because there was no way to actually stand in the

stream of the water. The bathroom floor was dirty and

there were sponges to soak up the water leaking from

the tub. Finally to top off the weekend, my boyfriend

(who I planned this trip for) decided to try the

blueberry bread we were served at breakfast, only to bite

into mold, not blueberries. This made me check the date

on the English Muffin I was about to eat to see that

it had expired on September 10th. (The date we "ate"

was October 1st.) Needless to say I am appalled that a

place like that is allowed to be in business. I would

never go there again, under any circumstance. I would

assume there are health codes for b & b's and if

Burbridge street was inspected it would be shut down

immediately.
