I was apprehensive when selecting this hotel after reading some negative reviews, even the "MouseSavers" website didn't like it, and she likes almost everything. But it's OK, it is.
I stayed there recently on a midweek escape to visit the Disney parks with my mom. It's a nice hotel, but it definitely caters to a business crowd, rather than one for tourists. It's a convention center, and it has a convention hall feel, big hallways, expensive dining, and a spa. If you're with IBM, it's the place to be. We felt a little weird passing groups of medical professionals in our shorts and Mickey Mouse shopping bags, but hey, it's our vacation, sorry for them.
The rooms have dark blue-brown tones. But, on the plus side, the room I was in was recently refurbished, and it didn't have the worn-in, never-a-guest-free-night feel that many hotels in the area have. It was easy to catch the shuttle to the main four parks, and the parking lot wasn't as far away as many of the reviews have whined about. The pool and gardens were pretty, and the bar on top of the hotel had a terrific view and worth visiting for that "God my legs and feet hurt" drink after a long day park-hopping. It also had a big desk with an ergonomic chair, I like that. I liked the balcony, too, although it was rather small. The bathroom was a nice size. The beds were comfortable and firm. The shower had adequate water pressure. I'd stay again, especially if I found a bargain price.
