35 year old woman with a moderate budget, traveling for business

We asked for a non-smoking room and were placed in a smoking room, we asked for help with bags and after an hour carried them ourself, we asked for a room transfer due to smoke and received a room with a cockroach and dirty linens outside in hallway for a day, we got our bill at check out which was wrong, then corrected, and still received a billing error on our card.

No one seemed to want to help/and or fix problems when asked for partial assistance or help from management.

Me and my family booked this hotel for our vacation to Disney, we booked it and we were charged $15.00 per day extra as a hidden charge and when we left the hotel, we had a charge of $250.00 charged from my credit card without telling me, when I saw my statement, I thought it might be a mistake, I called up the hotel and they said that there was a damage on the ottoman, the accounting department themselved were shocked at the attitude of the hotel managers.

This hotel was wonderful from start to finish! The beds were so comfortable it was hard to get out of them. We had a king room with a Disney view that we could watch the fireworks from our balcony. The balcony is not huge but big enough for two chairs and a small table. The view of downtown Disney was beautiful at night. There is a fridge in the room that we used to keep water cool and some wine for watching the fireworks. The hotel staff were so friendly and helpful it made our experience there so pleasant. The pool is perfect to cool off in and was a god send after a big day of theme parking. Everything is so close to this hotel that it makes the hustle bustle of getting anywhere easy. We walked down to downtown Disney with little trouble at all (2min. walk)and all the shuttles stop free right in front of the hotel. We had rented a car but really did not need it with the shuttles and being so close to Downtown Disney. Not far from the hotel (5mins) is the outlet mall and many, many restaraunts for cheaper prices if the cost of Disney is getting you down. The rooms were clean and were very modern. They just did a 70 million dollar renovation and it shows. It rated one of the best hotels we have stayed in. One minor drawback was that the rooms are not well insulated. This caused a few issues as you could hear a lot of noise every now and again. We only had one bad night with some excited kids in the next room at 2 am but other than that, our 4 day stay was wonderful. We would recommend this hotel and do plan to stay there again in the future.

It was really great. I think it was a lot of fun and in a great location.

This hotel made me feel secure: It had a lot of staff present twenty four hours. I think it just felt good knowing there were a lot of people around.

I am somewhat likely to return to the Buena Vista Palace Lake Buena Vista.
I might recommend it to friends.

Construction was being done in the lobby and the elevators. They should have offered a construction discount or something.

This hotel made me feel hip: The hotel was very elegant. I was very pleased with the room and with all of the accomodations.

I am very likely to return to the Buena Vista Palace Lake Buena Vista.
I would definitely recommend it to friends.

The only downside to this hotel is that it isn't located as close as the Disney resorts.

For the money ($189 a night average) this hotel is a must. The staff was remarkable (except for one real angry foreign man at guest services).

The rooms were very pleasant, I stay at Starwood resorts in Atlanta and Savannah, and the Buena Vista Palace beds and rooms fell in line to what I was used to. The LG flat screen LCD TVs in every room are also a nice addition. The food in the hotel is just as expensive as everywhere else inside the resort.

Buses from the hotel to the resorts are reliable ways to get to and from every resort. Downtown is a 5 minute walk away from the resort.

The only thing that would have been better is if the monorail had run through this hotel.

PS: They have super fast elevators.

Let me clear something up: This is not an actual Disney hotel, it is a Wyndham hotel, but it is not called that anymore because of a different owner.

The place is nice with great rooms, but it does get expensive and some things that should be free, actually cost extra. The transportation is a downtown Disney bus that goes to all six or seven of the hotels in the downtown Disney hotel plaza.

Overall, it was just fine.

I am very likely to return to the Buena Vista Palace Lake Buena Vista.
I might recommend it to friends.

The rooms are nice since the renovation, but I would not expect them to remain that way if upkeep is not brought up to par.

We checked in and found play dough and baby's bottles found under the couch. The transportation to and from the parks is awful, it's not a Disney transport. Coffee cost four dollars and there were no free refills. I must say, it's not a Disney experience.

Not sure what to expect with some of the reviews out there, but I was totally surprised and excited. The guest rooms are great and have all new furniture and flat panel TV's. Location is excellent right next to Downtown Disney. Highly recommend.

We paid extra for a high floor room with view and separate beds. They did not have this available at check in. We spent forty-five minutes waiting in line at check in. I have never seen such a disorganized mess.

I was apprehensive when selecting this hotel after reading some negative reviews, even the "MouseSavers" website didn't like it, and she likes almost everything. But it's OK, it is.

I stayed there recently on a midweek escape to visit the Disney parks with my mom. It's a nice hotel, but it definitely caters to a business crowd, rather than one for tourists. It's a convention center, and it has a convention hall feel, big hallways, expensive dining, and a spa. If you're with IBM, it's the place to be. We felt a little weird passing groups of medical professionals in our shorts and Mickey Mouse shopping bags, but hey, it's our vacation, sorry for them.

The rooms have dark blue-brown tones. But, on the plus side, the room I was in was recently refurbished, and it didn't have the worn-in, never-a-guest-free-night feel that many hotels in the area have. It was easy to catch the shuttle to the main four parks, and the parking lot wasn't as far away as many of the reviews have whined about. The pool and gardens were pretty, and the bar on top of the hotel had a terrific view and worth visiting for that "God my legs and feet hurt" drink after a long day park-hopping. It also had a big desk with an ergonomic chair, I like that. I liked the balcony, too, although it was rather small. The bathroom was a nice size. The beds were comfortable and firm. The shower had adequate water pressure. I'd stay again, especially if I found a bargain price.

I am somewhat likely to return to the Buena Vista Palace Lake Buena Vista.
I might recommend it to friends.

The location of the hotel was really awful if you needed to eat affordable meals and preferred to avoid screaming families. I was at the hotel for a scientific meeting and really would have preferred to be somewhere less resort like place. The hotel restaurant was understaffed and way overpriced. There was a roach in our first room and no second bed. The foldout bed was rather uncomfortable, and we had to specially request bedding for it.

I am somewhat likely to return to the Buena Vista Palace Lake Buena Vista.
I would not recommend it to friends.

The location was convenient to downtown Disney and parks via complimentary bus transportation. The Sunday character breakfast was expensive, but the relaxed atmosphere worked great for my kids, who were intimidated in the park setting. The suite upgrade was great for the nap time.

member icon Worst hotel we have ever stayed in!

Not sure how this "resort" got a 4 star rating. Be warned! This is not owned by Wyndam any longer. A resort company recently purchased it. There is no chain of command in this hotel, if you have a problem, you will get the run around. The rooms are as old and run down as the other reviewers have said. The buffet was way overpriced, so don't waste your money.

We went to the Magic Kingdom first and checked into the hotel at midnight. We had an exhausted 7 month old and 2 yr. old in a stroller. We went to the room only to discover that the room was filthy. It had not been vacuumed, and the sheets were dirty. Not only dirty, but had hair and blood on them. We called down to the desk to get another room. We were left on hold for 10 minutes only to be told there wasn't anything they could do. They gave us nothing but attitude, as if we were complaining for no reason. We went in circles with the night desk for two hours. Finally, at 2 in the morning, they moved us to another room, but it was a smoking room.

The rude woman at the front desk keyed our room keys wrong twice! We have a 7 month old asthmatic infant with us but they wouldn't move us. They finally agreed to remove all the charges for the hotel. But, we were stuck in the smoking room. At 6 a.m. we got a bill for $70 under our door. We called the desk and pitched a fit! They finally agreed to remove the charges and were very difficult about giving out the hotel manager's number. There was another guest at the main desk complaining about maid's stealing from his room. They wouldn't help him at all. So we gave him the manager's number. We will never stay here again.

I am not likely to return to the Buena Vista Palace Lake Buena Vista.
I would not recommend it to friends.
