Now a National Historic Landmark, the rustic, elegantly restored lodge is air-conditioned and offers a total of 114 rooms. The lobby houses a 24-hour reception. An à la carte restaurant and a general shop are also available to guests use. A launderette facility (charges apply) and parking spaces for those arriving by car round up the service offerings. Bryce Canyon Lodge is a lodge in Bryce Canyon National Park, Utah. It was built between 1924 and 1925 using local materials. Designed by architect Gilbert Stanley Underwood, the lodge is an example of National Park Service Rustic design. The lodge and cabins were declared a National Historic Landmark in 1987. Bryce Canyon Lodge is operated by Xanterra Parks and Resorts, a park-management company selected and contracted by the National Park Service. A few feet from the amphitheater's rim and trailheads is this rugged stone-and-wood lodge. You have your choice of suites on the lodge's second level, motel-style rooms in separate buildings (with balconies or porches), and cozy lodgepole-pine cabins, some with cathedral ceilings and gas fireplaces. Horseback rides into the park's interior can be arranged in the lobby. Reservations are essential for dinner at the lodge restaurant.

50 year old male with a luxury budget, traveling for leisure
Nestled in the mature trees a hundred yards from the canyon rim, the Bryce Canyon Lodge is a classic throw-back to the lodges of old. We found the front desk staff to be both knowledgeable and courteous. Dinners were extremely good; breakfast buffets were not up to the same standard as the dinners. Rooms are spartan but well maintained. The ancillary staff running the gift shops and horse back riding were very personable. Definitely make a reservation ahead of time. The place has few vacancies during the summer - and for good reason. It's a very restful and beautfiul place to visit.

The surroundings are wonderful and the air is so fresh. Rooms are very simple and of course no TV. Nice balcony except for the coffee cup with cigarette butts in the coffee. The man on the front desk at check-in was certainly not Mr. Personality and because of another review we were very cautious when he insisted on having our credit card, even though we had paid months earlier. We will watch our card for double billing. The morning buffet is reasonable but limited and if you want coffee, juice or water, it will be quicker to get your own. Staff appear to be very poorly trained and do not have it together.
Again great setting and wonderful to be next to the canyon which is the best one, but not the best service.

I stayed in this Motel at the beginning of June in 2006 and it turned out OK. However this year (2007) at the beginning of June I got charged again, on the same card.
First I was curious and called the Motel. The Lady at the front desk couldn't help me right away, but took notes to hand them to the manager that she could take care of that.
I called again, this time I talked to the manager herself after two similar charges of the same amount went through. She admitted getting the note from her co-worker, but now claims I made reservations.
My conclusion: If you want to stay in this Motel, because it is close to the park, better pay cash. It will save you a lot of trouble!

Excellent
All Review Photos I’m awfully fond of staying in the park when it’s possible. The older the lodging, the more interested I am in making that the center for exploring the surroundings. The classic park lodges of Gilbert Stanley...
