39 year old with a luxury budget, traveling for leisure
We have stayed at a lot of hotels in Asia. This was the worst ever. What an absolute dump. Service sucked (on the last day they forgot the wake up call and the taxi. We got to airport speeding with only 5 mins to spare.) Staff couldn't give a toss whether we enjoyed it or not. Food was so bad we went to local market every morning. The area smells literally. I mean really bad. Rooms are old and run down. But did get a good view from the 16th floor (until they moved us to the 14th floor on New Years day for renovations starting that day. At least the hammering and concrete smashing machines above weren't quite so loud. We did learn to wear our shoes in the room so that our feet wouldn't stick to the sticky carpet. Was pleased to leave. I would recommend this to people who like to usually sleep with wild animals in the jungle. This would be a step up.
