Newly constructed in 1996 and nestled on 14 acres of meadow within the confines of Matthiessen State Park, the Brightwood Inn was built to resemble a vintage farmhouse complete with a verandah and rocking chairs. The Brightwood Inn will provide you with a peaceful and luxurious stay amid the beauty of nature. In the morning the dining room serves a full complimentary breakfast to our inn guests. The evening meal is open to both inn guests and the public on Friday and Saturday, inn guests only Sunday through Thursday. Reservations are required. The meals feature fresh organic herbs and vegetables from our gardens when in season. Wine, beer and various spirits are available to accompany your dining experience or can be enjoyed in our gathering room while mingling with other guests. Our inn can be reserved for banquets, small weddings and business conferences.

For $180 a day, I expected much more. What I received was yellow slimy water from the faucet, mandatory dining at the BB, a one item breakfast which the host commented "take it or leave it", dinner entrees ranged from $18-24 which is way too pricy for farm country.
Overall, the Brightwood Inn charged big city prices for farm country quality, overpriced, restrictive dining options, poor water quality, and their unfriendly service will keep me away from this BB.
